Reviews
Positives:
Great location – the city center is within a 10–15 minute walk. The area is quiet, the hotel is clean, the food selection is varied and tasty, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The accommodation is good value for money considering the beautiful location. Wellness treatments are also available for an extra charge.
Negatives:
I would not recommend this hotel if you are mainly visiting for the wellness. The wellness area is small and includes one whirlpool and saunas. There was no shower in the steam sauna, and the showers in the wellness area splash water everywhere. There are no proper loungers for relaxing after the sauna, only a few seats. Guests also have to walk through the hotel in bathrobes to reach the wellness area. The swimming pool is visible from the hallway, so there is no privacy.
Overall, the wellness facilities were a slight disappointment. However, for the price, the accommodation itself is very good, though the wellness does not meet four-star hotel standards.
The rooms are clean, spacious and warm although tea/coffee making facilities were missing. Also our shower was not very practical, in a bathtub so you have to be careful that the floor does not get too wet.
Staff are all friendly and helpful, most spoke good English. Breakfast and dinner very good, although the dining room gets crowded.
The wellness area is rather small for the size of hotel. At busy times, like late afternoon, it can be difficult to find a space in the small sauna, steam room or hot tub, but the facility is good if you go there when it's less busy. The pool is separate to the wellness area on the level above and is a reasonable size - we did not see it too busy.
Car parking can be an issue - there was no space at the hotel when we arrived so parked 15 minutes walk away down the hill in a public parking lot beside the railway station. This was however cheaper (17 euro per night at hotel, 11 euro in public parking lot).
First, I should mention that my boyfriend and I stayed in the newly renovated part of the hotel. The room was really luxuriously furnished and very clean, so you could feel comfortable right away. The food at the restaurant was also delicious and freshly prepared. I would like to especially highlight the friendly restaurant staff, who were always attentive and accommodating. The reception staff were also very helpful and could immediately assist with any questions or concerns.
Unfortunately, there were also some points that significantly marred the stay. The parkingspace is extremely small, and you have to maneuver very carefully with a larger car. Although the room had a balcony, the door had no handle and the balcony door could be opened with little effort—a safety risk. Additionally, the wood of the deck was very old and partially damaged, which could have easily led to an accident.
Another major drawback: there is no direct warm connection between the hotel room and the wellness area. This means that you have to walk through the building in your bathrobe or change in the dressing rooms. It was especially unpleasant that the staff in the wellness area started preparing unfriendly 30 minutes before closing and literally yelled at guests and even cussed them out (we were not the only people that this thing happened to, but also to another young couple like us) if they didn't pick up their things on time. I found that to be disrespectful and unprofessional.
Even the amenities themselves were worth improving: The pool was fine, but the water in it was pretty cold. The Jacuzzi didn't seem particularly clean, and the steam room lacked a small shower, which significantly reduced the comfort.
My stay in the Czech Republic was overall nice, but I won't be returning to this hotel. The positive aspects unfortunately cannot compensate for the numerous shortcomings.
My room is in building 3, seems to be newly renovated. Spacious space for a single room with a view of wood forest and next castle building. The toilet and shower room are separated. Only 1 body-and-hair shampoo is provided. But the soundproofing is not so great, you may hear the talking and laughing from the nest room clearly at night.
The front desk gentleman is so kind and attentive, highly appreciated for his service. The breakfast is average and could be crowded during holidays.
Dog friendly (normally it costs 8€, but for us was free - don't know why).
