Retro Riverside Wellness Resort in Karlovy Vary

A lovely hotel in a great setting and the staff were very helpful and friendly- it was a great stay.

Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. The spa and wellness area was very relaxing, and the Thai Massage was absolutely wonderful. If you want to enjoy some quiet spa time in KV I definitely recommend it!

We stayed for 2 Nights at the hotel and were really in awe of it. Rooms were very clean, functional, perfect view and great size. Mini bar was very well stocked. Hotel could have more vegetarian options in the menu. A-La-Carte saved us the day. Staff was super amazing. Very Helpful and responsive. Wellness area is very relaxing and spacious. Never felt cramped in my visit twice. Location is right next to the lake but off from city center. Either you drive your own car or book cabs. I will definitely visit again.

Quite place close from Karlovy Vary Spa centre if you travel by car, taxi or by the Hotel transport. Superion 1/2 resly nice and large room with balcony and river wiev. Comfortable king bed and bathoroom. Just tv channels is limited. Very good two (2) floor Wellness area with posibility to book it only for you as private. Very good breakfast. For dinner not big offer in ala carte menu but advantage is realy relax atmosphere and quite place in Restaurant, drinks and vines offer but not only.

It's been a while since we were Here, but it was great to be back again. Very relaxing and excellent food. The new Chef is very good. The staff are very helpful & friendly. It would be great If the Gym Had a Yoga mat and the Bike is rusty & old. We are already planning our next visit. Thank you

Apart from the cleaning lady, everything was fine. The bed wasn't really well made, despite the tip. The next day, no tip, and no water either. The reception and service were top-notch.

Well, the hotel has enormous potential...
Problems at check-in and check-out made the stay less than enjoyable overall. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, and everything is of high quality. The location itself is a matter of taste; what's disappointing is the street opposite, which is very busy and noisy.
The air conditioning in the room didn't work at all; we had 26°C at night with an outside temperature of 15°C.
The service has a lot of room for improvement; it seems like the staff only started running the hotel a few days ago. We decided to have dinner at the hotel on our first evening. The quality was okay, but they couldn't manage to get the wine we ordered and a second one in 45 minutes. We were almost finished eating when we were brought two glasses of Chianti, which were of subpar quality. We were really looking forward to having breakfast on the terrace due to the nice weather, but this wasn't permitted. Thirty minutes later, however, other guests were allowed to do so. The staff is trying hard, no question, but they're completely overwhelmed by the workload at this sophisticated hotel. We certainly have high standards, but given the prices, they're justified. Unfortunately, this three-day short break was significantly marred by the things described above.

If the service matches the quality of the building, this would definitely be a recommendation, but currently, it's not for us at all. A shame!

Let's be honest: when you approach this hotel at dusk it kind of does look like the setting to a Stephen King novel. Although, don't get me wrong: the location in a forest covered mountain valley, on the shore of a small lake is very beautiful. Also the architecture resembles a nice little château in Romania. There is a road that passes by this hotel and continues on the opposite side of the lake, but that's about the only noise you might get. All in all the hotel is luxurious, the room is spacious and we even got a room with a large balcony. The breakfast is on a "à la carte" basis and unfortunately takes a little bit too long when there are many guests at breakfast simultaneously. The spa area is simply amazing with a hot tub, sauna and a small swimming pool. The only downside is that you need a car to get to the downtown area. But staff were super friendly and I would definitely consider staying here again!
