Hostellerie Cèdre & Spa Beaune in Beaune

Beautiful hotel conveniently located for exploring Beaune. The staff were very attentive and friendly, looking after us well. We received a welcome room upgrade and were very happy with it. Breakfast at €30 is expensive but reasonable considering the selection offered. A nice touch was leaving nighttime items in our room like water, herbal tea, and chocolate, although we found it unusual that housekeeping re-entered the room without informing us. Housekeeping generally cleaned very well, but one day they took a bath towel without replacing it and left cleaning chemicals in the bathroom. On another day, the room was not made up when we returned after 4 pm, which was unusual for a five-star hotel. They did return shortly after to clean, but it meant waiting downstairs for 20 minutes when we wanted to relax. This was a minor inconvenience and didn’t affect our overall experience. The bar has great options; we enjoyed a tasty pre-dinner aperitif but did not have a second as the barman appeared a bit distracted with other orders.

It was a delight. Every staff member interaction was polite and efficient.
The bar lounge area is so cosy and the wood burning fireplace was earm and inviting while we dealt with late november weather.

Lovely property with generous and well appointed rooms. Great service and nice extras like turndown, and little treats left in the room were a nice touch. Breakfast was decent and the bar is great! Gym very small but usable. Parking available for a steep fee, but is super convenient. Price point at the high end, but fair value overall.

Things to look out for:
WiFi not great outside the lobby area. And the property advertises itself as having AC, but heating only outside of summer so you will need the window open (it can be quite loud outside) if you like it cool and not stuffy to sleep - this is really the only negative point, but if you’re advertising AC as a feature and charging top whack then you shouldn’t penny pinch (it’s not regulations as they will tell you if you press the point!).

Hand on heart, the best hotel experience I’ve ever had. A credit to the staff and owners. The service was impeccable, particularly from Matthieu in the bar, the atmosphere that was created in the sitting area. All future hotel stays will be judged by me against the Cedre Beaune.

The Bona Cedars Hotel & Spa is one of the best hotels in the area, with exquisite gardens, historic buildings, and fairly well-equipped rooms. It has underground parking, and the spa is very popular, making reservations difficult. The hotel restaurant is also a Michelin-starred establishment, a rare find, but unfortunately, the service was somewhat lacking, with staff appearing slightly arrogant and indifferent. Hopefully, this wasn't specifically targeting foreign guests.

We loved our time at Cedre. Hotel was beautiful, well-appointed, and service was excellent. Reverent out of their way to ensure your experience was excellent. Breakfast was good. We rented e-bikes from the hotel to ride the wine trails, loved the library / fireplace area. Location is walkable to downtown without being in the middle the city. We look forward to coming back!

Perfect for touring Burgundy.
The hotel fit our needs perfectly. Comfortable beds and a very convenient location. The concierge is very helpful and capable. We truly enjoyed the wine tours and tastings.

While visiting Bourgogne for wine tasting we spent two nights in Beaune at Hostellerie Cèdre & Spa. The location was superbly located in the city near various vineyards (we drove by car, but I also assume within biking distance), restaurants, and sights. The staff was fantastic in welcoming us and getting us oriented to their hotel and gave us welcome treats; check out was easy too and they gave us more treats when we departed. The room was beautiful, quiet, had a nice view, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom great; the room had all the amenities we needed as well, including coffee/beverages. The hotel staff helped us with suggestions prior to our trip for various vineyards to visit (and the suggestions were excellent). We also ate at their Michelin-starred restaurant Clos du Cèdre; we chose the five course meal which was excellent and we especially enjoyed the sweet bread. We also ate breakfast at the hotel which was fantastically prepared and had many options. Overall we had a wonderful experience and will be back again; I highly recommend this hotel!

We loved our stay here in Beaune! The hotel really went above and beyond to make our stay special, including nightly tea and chocolates. The town on Beaune is beautiful and very easy to walk to from the hotel. There are plenty of dining options and some cute stores in the town, and it’s a great base to explore the Burgundy region. I’d happily stay again!
