The room was nice with space to navigate and high ceilings. This location right in the heart of Saint-Malo was the best. Near the sea and walking distance to this historic city. I love it here.

Located in Saint-Malo's old town, it's conveniently close to the beach and restaurants.
The stairs leading up to the ramparts are also nearby.
Some rooms have a noticeable echo of the bar next door at night.
There is an old elevator, but it can be a bit difficult to use with large luggage.
A tea set is provided.
There are no problems with hot water in the shower.
The rooms have been renovated and are clean.

After a long journey, all the doors were locked at 4 p.m., and no one was there. The room was nice, VERY small, the kitchen smelled horrible... no way to ventilate. The window faced the courtyard, and there was noise all night.

Overall good!
Fabulous location (but parking difficult), bathroom door didn’t fit the hole!? Repeated banging of doors in the morning.

Lots of little problems made unpleasant experience
Bad start - drove through the maze to drop off bags, asked hotel person (hard to identify since it's also a restaurant) for advice on where to park, and he said he had no idea at all. As parking is clearly an issue in St. Malo, he should've had some idea. We finally figured something reasonable out after 40 minutes of trying to get back out of town.
Second - no AC, which is fine, but if you opened windows the noise from the bar went on late into the night. We asked about a fan, and they said they didn't have any, a first in my years of travel in Europe.
Third- the bathroom is dark, and it looked like the bulb above the mirror was dying. We asked to get a new bulb, and they said yes but never did it. I'm sure they understood our request.
Fourth - literally the only place to hang a towel in the bathroom was on a tiny towel rack/heater. It was impossible to be "eco-friendly".

The location is a shame that this hotel is undergoing exterior work which prevents a good view from the windows. The room was good... clean, certainly recently renovated. Nothing to report on the sanitary facilities. The brasserie offers a good selection of dishes and good quality. The only downside is the breakfast at 12 euros and not much coffee, bread and croissants 😡

We had a very small room, more like emergency accommodation at the back, the hotel is currently being renovated outside and is scaffolded, right in the old town

I didn't stay at the hotel I only dined at the restaurant. It was fantastic. Update to my 2023 review. Had the Menu Homard. Highly recommended. Delicious huitres de Cancale. The Sancerre was delicious. The lobster was amazing. Chocolate mousse off the charts. Highly recommended.

Currently under construction, it would have been better if it were closed. I came for business, the room was adequate but on the second floor with an elevator that dated from the 60s, I didn't risk going up there. On a positive point, the receptionist was kind and professional. Without her kindness, I would have already left for another hotel, unlike the night porter, a woman who I think should retire. Asking me if I was staying at the hotel twice when I had given her my room number. Same thing for breakfast, I told her it was included, but for her it wasn't. It was so desperate that the first morning I left without being able to take advantage of it. Oh yes and you don't have to be imposing to go to the toilet, it's so small
