We had a short but wonderful trip to Saint-Malo! Our experience at Le Grand Hotel des Thermes was extremely inviting, comfortable and elegant. While we didn't have the opportunity to dine at the hotel directly, we enjoyed drinks at the bar and a spectacular view. We were traveling with our 3 children and we had a more than ideal room setup for our family with an adequate amount of space and breathtaking...

How this hotel possesses a 5 star accreditation is beyond comprehension. The facilities are tired and outdated, and the food a disaster. Anyone partial to frozen tomato in the salad?

Very good location. Beautiful view and comfortable bed. Kind of older rooms but in general it was a good stay. P.S. they don’t offer much bucket to be delivered to the room. They put the ice in a plastic bag instead!

The 20M salt-water pool was the highlight, kept at a comfortable 30 degrees C. The rest of the aqua center was amazing. We had no opportunity to try the hotel restaurants. It's a bit of a hike to the old town, but it's a lovely walk along or beside the beach. The Nespresso machine in tthe room was a nice touch. The mattress was on the firm side, the way we like it. I expect it would be comfortable...

Close to the station, it's a 20 minutes walk to the city center (which is some kind of a tourist trap, at least in August). There are a good restaurants nearby. Maybe not too romantic, but very reasonable

Ac was malfunctioning during our stay. They did provide us with fans instead. The shower temperature was fluctuating, you'll feel some short bursts of cold or hot water. Nothing dangerous. Breakfast was good but you need to be quick on the eggs. We always arrived in the last half hour of the opening times but refills weren't always plentiful.

If you have transport then it's only a 10min drive into St malo Town centre so the location suited me perfectly.... The pool,sauna and steam room were absolutely immaculate ,friendly staff especially reception and bilingual, rooms a tad on the small side but only just..... Breakfast was good and with a huge selection.... As a low earner I'm looking for as good as I can get for the best price and personally...

Absolutely lovely hotel! Staff utterly charming and extremely professional! Room very confortable and impeccably maintained. Excellent restaurant with wonderful chef and delightful staff. Loved the pool and the garden lit at night and so pleasant on a nice day. Lastly the surroundings in Parame are really nice . Great architecture and the beach just 3 mn away . We shall be back for sure !

the hotel has been renovated to a very high standard. I was made to feel very welcome by the staff and the whole stay was excellent from start to finish. My rooms was comfortable . I also ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and both were very good.

Nice hotel in lovely town Only issue we really had was with parking and charging electric car. As we were on holiday we had a roofbox on. Although I did reserve a parking spot, I was not informed about a 1.85 Metre height restriction on the parking. We had to find our own parking and could not charge our car overnight.

The hotel is located on the seafront and has outstanding views over the sea. It is an 15 minute walk to the old town. Our prestige room was quite well equipped but rather tired. The decor belonged in the 1980s. Cleanliness could have been better. There is a bright breakfast area and the choices on offer were very good.

Perfectly set at the coastline with a nice ambience. Breakfast is a little crowded and the lovely, kind staff cannot keep up with the demand. The beds are too short for me at 186 cm. No fitness, but a small sauna. Parking is a little difficult, but P+R Feval is cheap and there's a bus running which is free for 24h and costs just 2 € after that which you can pay with card in the busses.

Unfortunately, this was only an overnight stop again, en route to our early ferry departure but, as always, Mercure Front de Mer provided an excellent standard. We had the surprise of an upgrade to a room with a full sea view which was very much appreciated - thank you Front de Mer! All staff we spoke with were very helpful. They always represent the hotel very well indeed. We'll be back again!

A great one night stay before catching the ferry to the U.K. the next day. The hotel is in a very quiet setting, a short walk to a bus stop which takes you to the centre of St Malo. Rooms are spacious and breakfast was plentiful. Staff also friendly and helpful, would recommend and would stay again.

Handy for the port We always stay here when we are travelling to/from St Malo. The hotel is near the dock so very handy, always clean, the room is small but sufficient. Would like a kellte in the room so a hot drink could be made.

Disappointed We were given a room that was clean and functional but the aircon didn’t work - i reported it to reception and was told it was the whole hotel that had an issue - there was nothing that could be done and i was given a small fan. This is one of the most perfect little hotels we have stayed at in our European travels - every detail has been thought out by the owners and we found it to exactly meet our needs. The staff were amazing, as was the breakfast and ideally located. A very memorable stay, we cannot wait to return and visit again.

We enjoyed this stay in every way. Completely and thoroughly newly renvated. My only point would be that we could have received and used much more information at check in time.

There was a very ‘drainy’ smell when we first went into the room- no idea where it came from but it disappeared very quickly. Beautifully clean room which was tidied every day. All the staff we were in contact with were very helpful and pleasant. We ate in the restaurant twice (apart from breakfasts) and the food was good with a varied choice on the menu.

The very small rooms have lead lights which aren’t cozy. Hotel Bikes (you have to rent) are falling apart and rusty. But, required since this hotel is far from the village center.

This is an excellent, well run, clean hotel. It is conveniently located for the beach and is approximately 30 minutes walk away from central St Malo. You can either pay to park at the hotel or park locally on the road.

The staff were incredibly kind and happily stored our luggage for us. We booked a room with a sea view, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. It would have been nice to have drinks in the room, but overall, it was a great stay. It's about a 17-minute walk from the station, and there are some delicious wine bars and bakeries nearby.

Parking was done on the street using an automatic parking machine to purchase time. It's about a 20-minute walk to the old town. The hotel breakfast was average, the room was small, the lighting was dim, and the bathroom lacked a separate shower and toilet area.

The ocean view from our room was spectacular, a great way to take in the impressive tidal swings of Saint-Malo. The location couldn't be better for wandering the beach and for walking into the town walls. This is a top-notch operation and it shows in every aspect. Saint-Malo exceeded our expectations and so did this hotel, hope to be back one day!

We were in the area for a couple of nights to visit St Malo and some surroundings towns. Instead of staying in St Malo itself with our rental car and luggage we decided to try this instead and were very glad we did that. This hotel is a lovely old world castle set on beautiful grounds. It's 5-10 min outside St. Malo so you need a car to get there. Uber would be difficult and you can't walk. But it was perfect for us! Free parking for rental cars. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would recommend it to friends. Great experience if you want to stay in a chateau instead of a Hilton!

Very nice location. Small, very clean room with bathtub. Only drawbacks are the parking and breakfast prices. It's also important to be clear about the check-in time: 2 p.m. on the official website, 3 p.m. on Trip.com, and 4 p.m. on site.

The hotel is more than 2 kilometers away from Saint-Malo train station. Take bus No. 5 to Pasteur. You can see the signs of various hotels when you get off the bus. Walk about 100 meters. Bus No. 5 runs every half an hour. The hotel looks renovated inside and outside. The color of the sea is eye-catching, but the appearance of the surrounding hotels is very beautiful. Stayed two nights on a trip to Normandy and Brittany. Lovely hotel overlooking an endless beach full of seagulls and surfers. Fresh air and surf. Private parking, great restaurant overlooking the sea, friendly staff, lift. Quiet, peaceful area but not too far from the ramparts.

The family room is so nice. Three girls, one bed each. I definitely recommend this hotel if you come to Saint-Malo, because it is right outside the sea. Wearing a bathrobe, go out for a swim and return to the hotel in an instant. The hotel has its own restaurant, which you must try. The boss's service is very, very, very good. The seafood is very fresh and clean. The price is also very favorable.

There was a problem with the drains in the bathroom, a smell and water drained very slowly from the shower and washbasin.

This property turned out to be a large hotel near a highway. It caters two buses of tourists, so the restaurant wasn’t available because it was full. The rooms were lovely, however. Being on the edge of town meant that it was hard to walk to any nice restaurants, although we found a wonderful Asian buffet, Mongolian barbecue restaurant nearby.

Shower head was horrible. Everything else was wonderful!

Disappointed that the reception was closed when we arrived at 1:30. Had to travel into St. Malo with all our gear until later. No dining room for evening meal - had to walk to nearby Buffalo Diner, which was OK. Otherwise, helpful staff, very attentive at breakfast & clean & well decorated room.

Lovely young woman checked us in & The following morning her Cheerful Father ran the Breakfast room, which was well appointed with many selections. The patio was a great spot to relax. Close drive to San Malo.

We have family in St. Malo and we will be back Check in was smooth and friendly- we loved talking to the host at the front desk. They accommodated my family if 5 in 2 adjacent rooms with a kind of private hallway connecting us. Just an excellent clean and comfortable room. Highly recommend.

A great stopover en route to the Saint Malo - Portsmouth ferry, being just off the main road and having a straightforward, free car park. Yes it’s in the middle of a retail park (which was deserted at the weekend). But the excellent buses (routes 1 and 2) can be picked up very nearby so it’s easy to get into town. Download the transit app and pay the driver on the bus (cash or card). We really valued...

Lovely room looking out over the beach and a very nice restaurant

We had a lovely stay in October 2025, weather was kind to us and we enjoyed sea swims, seafront walks and eating at the hotel where the food was excellent.

It was a lovely weekend. Thierry made it much better as well. We will definitely stay again! Next time we hope to meet Fabrice as well!

I had a lovely, relaxing stay at Les Charmettes last week. Walkable to the main town (Intra-Muros) with great opportunity to watch the ocean and beachside from the convenient restaurant. Highly recommend!

This beautiful hotel, formerly a family home, is owned and run by the loveliest couple. Charming, friendly and welcoming. The property is beautiful and the view from our room included a very full apricot tree, the fruit of which was part of the delicious breakfast we enjoyed in the back garden. Would return here if we are in St. malo again.

Our room was street view but not noisy. The room was very small . Looked to be recently refurbished. Dark wood furniture, big comfortable bed, modern shower room /toilet. Very clean. Coffee pod machine. Reception staff were welcoming and efficient. Bar area/breakfast room overlooked the beach.

Amazing beach view Amazing location over looking the sea, like a postcard. Staff very friendly and attentive. Room small but comfortable. Cobwebs on the ceiling and carpet in need of a deep clean. Bathroom very small but had a good shower. Roof top bar is a plus. Nearby street parking is free. Dinner/wine was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and scrambled eggs scrumptious.
