I visited this hotel for work. Communication was poore from the beginning. Phone no answer. Email- everytime I got reply from different person. Location is beautiful, hotel is old but with good vibe. A little fresh up would be nice to this hotel. Pool area is stunning. Food ok, nothing special but ok. But the worst was the reception. No speak english (very little), pretendeing they speak well - many misundertandings. After problem receptionist was very rude and pretended no speaking english (before she tried). Ordered 2 bedrooms (1 single and 1 double = 3 people). Communication was screwed up. No appologies, rudenes and charged 3 bedrooms, like for 5 people.Mistake was on both sides but they were not willing to find a solution. It seemed to me like planned since beginning from them. Hospitality none! You feel like a number, pay and get off. For me never ever at this hotel again. Cheaters!

The Cacharel is like going back in time to a French ranch house. Staff is incredible- food is amazing. Gorgeous large pool (eat there!) rooms all have AC and are comfortable. Incredible location right by marshes with hundreds of flamingos and ample places to ride the iconic white horses. We had no idea how amazing this part of the world is. Would absolutely recommend if you want a wonderful once in a lifetime family adventure! We loved our stay (and added a night!)

a wonderful place. very authentic furnishings - true to France and the region, which has a lot in common with cowboy culture and Spanish missions. the surrounding terrain is beautiful and we had a nice horse ride through it.
famous films of the wild white horses of the Camargue were filmed here in the 50s.

Unfortunately, I had booked for three nights. After the first night with a dead cockroach and a bathroom with would on the walls and black would on the shower rim then a really poor breakfast of scrambled egg served literally on a saucer and stale bread we decided to leave. The lady still charged me for the three nights. Unfair, but done just to get out of there.

The price for the horseback ride is outrageous, the breakfast is poor and our room was average. On the other hand, the swimming pool is sumptuous, the nature is magnificent and the place is ideal to rest, to disconnect. The staff are very nice but the price seems very high to me.

The first thing that fascinated me was the pink color spreading at sunset, towards the sea and the lavender color reflected in the water of the nature reserve where the thought abandons itself to the wild and the feet sink into white sand, as soon as you get out of the car.

Forget the bad reviews. Most of what they write may be true, but that's why we love it. We have been here several times, it's rustic, simple, unique, in a magic location and no mass tourism which if you want perfect pools, plastic furniture, then keep driving. From the breakfast outside on a gravelled square to the 24 hour pool to long walks or horse rides, you know exactly where you are and why you are here. Just don't tell others, it's our secret.
