Htel du Centre Metz in Metz

What a wonderful stay we had. If you want a hotel that is quaint, charming, affordable and feels like a part of the city instead of a sterile chain hotel this is the place for you. I do need to mention there is no lift and if you can't do stairs this isn't the place for you. Also, no mini bar and no air con. We stayed there for four nights in August and the fan was sufficient for us but then again we are from a hot climate. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with your typical European confined shower. For us this is a gem of a hotel with superb hosts that were friendly, helpful and kind as you could ask for. I also need to mention that if you are a light sleeper and easily disturbed by street noise this also might not be quite the right choice.

The hotel is indeed in the center of it all with very good restaurants within easy walking distance. A covered market and a commercial shopping center were both just a couple blocks away as well as the amazing cathedral. This town was made for walking so please get out and enjoy it. One of our great joys was searching out some the excellent croissants and baguettes at the boulangeries as well as locally produced cheeses. The train station is a relatively flat 10 minute walk.

The hotel arranged covered parking for our bicycles for a small fee that was close by. The flat screen tv worked fine as did the wifi...which is more than many hotel chains can say.

We very much hope to return next year.

An excellent stay at a good price. Very central location, the room was more than adequate and the staff were friendly, hospitable and helpful. At night the street was very quiet. I'd be very happy to return.

Great safe location. Very friendly gentleman at the reception desk. The room was great and clean.
There is no elevator, so make sure you travel light. A great wine bar and Alsacian restaurant next door. Lots of shops and restaurants around. 20-30 minutes from the train station.

Came here by accident, cause on our way from apdh do Amsterdam couldn't find some 4 or 5 stars that we usually take in our travels. And it was great coincidence - we found hotel with old French atmosphere, remind us old good France, when we started discovering that country as young people many years ago.
Breakfast more than sophisticated (as in F.) Very helpful and nice lady. So if you looking for real France experience, full joy of life and smile - you should stay here for a night or two :)

If you're looking for a simple yet clean and comfortable b&b in Metz, this is the place. The two ladies at the reception are way beyond kindness and available 24h on the phone for any question or problem. Rooms are super clean, equipped with everything you may ask in a b&b and the ambience is in typical northern France style. Last but not least: best price in Metz (if you wish to pay less you'll have to go for a hostel) and super super central.
Lovely place.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke English, French and even some German. The Hotel has a very nice location in the centre of the city. Since it is located in a busy street with many Restaurants and shops increased noise remains. This is not noticeable when the Windows are closed but too much. The rooms offer a nice ambience. The only drawback: In the bathroom, minor repairs are needed (Defective shower hose broken shower head holder, broken hair dryer).
The sights are within walking distance.
The Breakfast was sufficient and has been lovingly served.
The Hotel offers unfortunately no own Parking. Underground garages and other Parking facilities are in the surrounding area and can quickly reach by foot. 24 costs 8,20 €.
