Perfect location for a short stay in Lille. Easy access to a few restaurants and a bus stop going into town. In walking distance of the Grand Palais and Zenith (why we chose this one). Kind and helpful reception desk employees. Rooms are not big but sufficient for a short stay. Parking garage in the building, which is nice too. We would return, especially if we needed to go to Grand Palais or Zenith!

The room was spacious, good for a family, but the mattress creaked loudly when we turned over.

The room was great value for money with the staff being so hospitable and provided an amazing service, catering for our request of extra pillows and luggage storage (departure day) without hesitation.

Would happily stay here again!

Location-wise, we knew before we booked that there would be plenty of walking required to get into the old town. That was fine as we were on a sight seeing trip anyway. It's not an unpleasant area to walk through as you walk through the neighbouring parts which are mostly residential and part business.

In general the stay was okay and acceptable, but plenty of small niggles. I have stayed in 2 of these hotels from this chain in Germany and they were both of a higher standard.

The room was quite tired and dated with the hotel costing £300 for 3 nights.

There were mosquitos on the last two nights (slightly weird in November) and we both got badly bitten overnight. Not really the hotels fault, but some bug nets or zappers in the room would have been useful. Perhaps as the hotel is covered in plants and creepers for disguise, it attracts more insects.

It was 2 months since booking and the email confirmations (2) didn't mention we had paid for breakfast so we had to login to the website and search out our booking to confirm we definitely had it, after the reception desk person mentioned we did indeed have it paid for.

At breakfast, there was a toaster, but no sliced bread to toast! I had to cut up slices of the baguette which was too small for the toaster and then couldn't be retrieved safely without putting fingers or something to grab it like metal tongues into the toaster.

Very small bathroom in the room. Shower door didn't fit the gap. The gap was probably 10cm or more. It wasnt too bad if aiming the shower head slightly at the other wall away from the gap. Very little storage or room to hang towels. One toilet roll had been submerged in water. Good shower pressure, but shower head leaked after use, causing a dripping noise. Sink tap was awkwardly placed and hard to get hands under.

The light switch wiring in the room was totally bonkers. It was a room that sleeps 4 people; one double, two singles. The switches next the double bed were the "master" switches overriding and leaving the switches next to the two single beds (for their side lights) useless on their own. So someone sleeping in the double bed switching off the lights meant that whoever tries to get into one of the single beds after this has to do it in the dark or by torch light or the light of the bathroom light. I imagine they had a family of 4 in mind when they wired this up, but slightly annoying in other scenarios.

Dusty room, bed bugs and not enough towels. I won't book a stay with BnB hotels ever again.
As I said in my review you asked me for by email, we initially thought it was the mosquitos bites , this is why we haven't mentioned anything to reception it was just last night when I realised these were bedbugs bits. When it comes to dust, I really thought it was your standard as we stayed previously in BnB near Mont Michel and it was also dusty this is why this time I brought floor wipes with me and wiped every surface, although I really hoped that the hotel in Lille will be cleaner than the one near Mont Michel.

Terrible noise coming off the nearby highway, rooms are tiny, so one’s confined to do everything while sitting on a bed. No kettle, no mini-fridge in the room, with two paper cups provided, one in a room and another one in a bathroom, so when you put your toothbrush in it tips to the sink as flimsy cup can’t support any weight. The floors are covered with linoleum mats, so it’s got a hospital vibe. On the final day of my stay there was no hot water in the shower so I was moved to another room so I could finish showering in there. The most hilarious thing in all that is that we paid €200 a night, I wouldn’t mind it if it was €70, but I suppose you could expect higher quality for that price. Breakfasts were ok, although trying to fry an egg on the electrical Tefal stove takes ages. The only aspect that was really good were the staff, friendly, apologetic and quick to offer help, I personally feel that they really try to make everyone feel welcomed and make their stays better in that below average place. I definitely won’t be coming back, but wish I could have a similar attentive attitude from hotel staff in other places that I stay at.

We stayed one night at B&B Hotel Lille and found the location very convenient — close enough to walk to the city centre. The room was compact but comfortable, with a cosy bed and thoughtful touches, ideal for a short stay.

Nice and clean hotel, very close to center, with cheap and secured parking.
