Hôtel du Chateau in Nantes

We love this hotel. The host is very warm, welcoming and helpful. We stay here every time we come to Nantes. It is not far from the train station yet far enough to make it both practical and pleasant for a stay away from the busy station's noise and activity. We have been fortunate to reserve a room facing the Chateau and a lovely green park. We have stayed in other rooms, as well, and found them all to be impeccably clean, comfortable, and a good size. The breakfast, delicious cafe au lait, croissant and baguette served with a smile in a cute setting, is a great way to start off the day. Conveniently located to the handy tramway and an easy walk to many interesting shops, restaurants, and sites, this hotel is a fantastic deal at a great price. Highly recommended.

The manager was very helpful and friendly. He even helped carry our bags up and down the narrow staircase. Many thanks.

Fantastic hotel with bags of character, lovely hosts and excellent breakfast. Very comfortable bedroom, stayed in the room with a view to the beautiful chateau. Location is excellent, right in the middle of town, close to the airport shuttle, train, tram services. Excellent value for money. Will stay again for sure!

In a great location , close to bars and restaurants

This is going to be my preferred hotel in Nantes. My room was cute, cosy, I felt at home when I arrived late last night and felt delighted. The bathroom was spacious with a big shower. The bed was comfortable. It is better than standard chain hotels.

I had a very good experience.

Positive:
* It is very well located. Close to the center, many restaurants around, the Chateau in front, the train station very close, etc.
* The owner and staff are extremely friendly. I arrived with a sling from having been operated on a short time ago and the owner carried my suitcase up to my room! The stay is always much more pleasant when those who attend the place have such a cordial treatment.
* The typical French breakfast consisted of bread, croissant, coffee, various jams, freshly squeezed juice, and the owner always asked if you wanted anything else.
* The room has enough and necessary. A shower, a toilet, a bed, a window. From what I saw there were 4 different rates and I was not in the cheapest one but in the next one. I don't know how the others will be. Mine (room 16) was enough for the week I was there.

Negative:
* Just one point, that I put it just to go straight ahead and not seem like I want to hide the negative: room 16 (I don't know about the others) has the toilet in the bedroom, which has a carpeted floor. While it looked clean, the very idea of ​​having the toilet in the bedroom with a carpeted floor doesn't sound very hygienic.
Anyway, I spent a week there and you get used to it. Everything else was so positive that that first shock of seeing the toilet there completely dissolved.
