The somewhat dated rooms are very well maintained and clean. The rooms are rather spacious, and ours had been fitted with a mobile AC unit. The noise from the road would make it impossible to sleep with the window open, which was not an issue for us. But make sure to ask for a room facing away from the main street of you're used to sleeping with a window open.
I've stayed in other hotels in the central Lahr area, and this seems to be by far the best kept one within that price range, if not the quietest. Overall, probably the best option IMHO.
