Hotel Garni Sonne in Ueberlingen

We stayed at your hotel from Monday to Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would especially like to commend the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff – we felt welcome at all times.

Breakfast offers a small but excellent selection. Boiled eggs were available, but a fried or scrambled egg would have been a nice addition. We would recommend fresh bread rolls, as some were either too soft, too dry, or still very pale.

The hotel's location is wonderfully central: the waterfront and the charming little shopping street are easily accessible. However, depending on the room's location relative to the street, it can get quite noisy. Those who can tolerate some street noise shouldn't have any major problems.

The rooms are a bit dated, which gives them a certain charm. The old floorboards creak nostalgically, but the building is quite noisy overall. Our room was clean, but the bathroom and shower were a bit small. Air conditioning would be helpful on hot days; currently, ventilation via the windows is the only option.

But that's about it... Breakfast wasn't very extensive, but it was okay. Fried eggs were offered to the people at the next table, but not to anyone else (and it wasn't free as advertised!).

I couldn't find any Wi-Fi.

The parking lot is an 8-minute walk away.

It's okay for a short break, but not recommended for a longer stay, especially since it's very overpriced!

A big plus of this hotel is its location: right in Überlingen, close to the shipping pier. Due to the pedestrian zone, it is also very quiet.
But: the hotel is quite old, therefore very badly soundproofed, many steps, no elevator. Our room was large, furnished in a 60's style, the beds creaked and were quite worn out. Double sink in the room, bathroom and toilet ok, but rather simple.
At breakfast everything was brought on request and demand, is ok, because then nothing has to be thrown away. However, I think a buffet is better.

Rather disappointing for the rather expensive price range. The rooms are clean but rather from older times. The shower is a temperature change bath.
The breakfast was consistently as old as the hotel itself. Dry cheese, hard rolls and bread, moldy fruit and the cutlery had traces of the coffee or tea of ​​the last 20 guests. Unfortunately I can't recommend it.
