Romantik Hotel Ahrenberg in Bad Sooden-Allendorf

I stayed here in the middle of November, and the experience was quite disappointing. We entered the room in 8°C weather to find all the radiators completely off, making the room extremely cold. A hotel should always warm the room before guests arrive. Even worse, around 10:30 PM the heating automatically went into a low-temperature night mode, and the room became cold again. This made the stay very uncomfortable. As someone who shares travel experiences with others, I cannot recommend this hotel unless they seriously fix their heating system and prepare rooms properly for guests. Deutsch: Mein Aufenthalt Ende November war leider sehr enttäuschend. Wir kamen bei etwa 8°C an und fanden ein komplett kaltes Zimmer vor, da alle Heizkörper ausgeschaltet waren. Ein Hotel sollte ein Zimmer immer vor Ankunft der Gäste aufheizen. Noch schlimmer war, dass die Heizung gegen 22:30 Uhr automatisch in den Nachtmodus wechselte und das Zimmer erneut kalt wurde. Das machte den Aufenthalt sehr unangenehm. Als jemand, der seine Reiseerfahrungen mit anderen teilt, kann ich dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen, solange das Heizsystem nicht ernsthaft verbessert und die Zimmer nicht ordentlich vorbereitet werden.

Nice location, but relatively expensive
We had booked a room at the hotel, but it turned out the room was located in a separate 4 room cottage down a trail where we had to drive by car. We did not feel comfortable there, and room was relatively expensive. Therefore we drove back to the reception to ask for a room at the main hotel. In the reception they claimed that we had booked a room in the cottage. But no cottages were shown at booking by pictures or in writing, nor in our confirmation. After some discussion, we were upgraded to the last room available at the hotel. Had we known that the room would have been in such a cottage, we would never have booked it. The hotel itself was nice, the restaurant has a beautiful view over the valley. Dinner vs. quality (and waiting time) was expensive, the service in the restaurant was friendly.
