Wöllbacher Tor in Wetzlar

We are a group of three friends from Scotland. We had three rooms here for four nights. The hotel was in a great location, 15 minutes brisk walk from railway station and five minutes from the Dom in old city. Was self checkin on arrival. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Good shower too. Good selection at breakfast with local produce. Staff on hand to serve coffee and tea and to ensure buffet was replenished. Very friendly people to deal with. All in all, a good location if visiting Wetzlar or Leica, comfortable and good value clean accommodation.

I really enjoyed the hotel, rooms were clean and super cozy. I enjoyed the dinner in the hotel, dishes looked so good and were truly extraordinary. Also the stuff we’re super open and helpful

Lovely small hotel close to the historic part of Wetzlar. An easy bus ride to the Leica Museum. Recommend a taxi from train station as there is some uphill walking. Cosy room, great restaurant, excellent breakfasts.

I spent two very pleasant nights in a large, modern room with a very nice shower room in this privately run hotel and felt really good. The staff are exceptionally friendly and they obviously have a lot of trust in their guests: there is a fridge with drinks on the ground floor that you can help yourself to and then indicate what you took when paying. That speaks volumes for the owners and the guests! An extensive breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. And last but not least, the location: quiet and in the middle of the charming old town. Price and performance are more than satisfactory for the guest. It was definitely the first visit but certainly not the last! Thank you very much!

The hotel is just a few minutes from the cathedral and the old town, on a main road, but we still had a quiet room. It wasn't very modern, but it was big enough, with a desk and separate couch (unfortunately without a coffee table). Very comfortable beds. You have to be careful in the shower: it has neither a door nor a curtain - if you don't want the bathroom to flood, you shouldn't turn the water on too high. Good breakfast with delicious fresh rolls. The hotel offers a few free parking spaces, and if you can't get a space there, the friendly staff will be happy to give you tips on parking spaces nearby. If you come to Wetzlar during Advent, you shouldn't miss the beautiful Christmas market, which takes place on the cathedral square and (really beautiful) on the Schillerplatz.
