A decent hotel. Good enough for one night. Personally, we'd prefer to be closer to the city center, but that's a choice. We got off to a bad start at check-in. We always look for hotels that allow dogs. Upon arrival, we were told that dogs weren't welcome. We explained that this was indeed indicated on the website and that we'd mentioned this when booking. The receptionist then told us we'd have to pay an additional €40 because the room had to be disinfected after each use. My jaw dropped. I asked if I could cancel the booking. This wasn't specified when booking the room. She looked at me somewhat condescendingly and said that wasn't possible. What do you do then? If we had to book a different hotel, we'd lose our payment anyway. So, off we went, €40 plus €10 tourist tax. That left a bitter taste in our mouths.
The room was tidy. Oddly enough, three beds. The bathroom was very small. You can't even fit your beauty case in there, or you'll break your neck. A good shower, though. Poor pillows, like everywhere in German hotels. Breakfast is good. Lots of choices, and good coffee. But we definitely won't be back!
