Hotel Heikenberg in Bad Lauterberg

The Hotel is a bit outdated, but the rooms in "Landhaus_Style" are ok. No aircon, no fridge, the mattress could be changed soon. You can see that the hotel is about 50 years old, but everything worked fine. It has a pool, but no towels there, you need to bring it from the room or ask at reception. A bathrobe is charged extra. Using the sauna must be requested at least one hour in advance, otherwise it stays off. It has a gym, but smells like mold. At breakfast, guests get a table assigned which is kept for the stay. This means, in the "panorama restaurant", you either sit always at a window - or never. Breakfast is ok, but the scrambled egg is from tetrapak. For dinner they offer a buffet with 3 choices plus salat, soup and desert. In both cases, the food seems to say warm for the entire time, so if you come early, you get it quite fresh, if you come late, its dry and overcooked. Service is good, everyone is very friendly, but reception already closes at 8pm already. Parking in fron of the hotel is free. All in all it is ok, but certainly not oustanding.
