Leine-Hotel in Gottingen

Due to the incompetence of the staff, who were unable to receive payment from the Booking, the security guard did not let me leave the hotel. I was late for the exam for this reason, lost money for exam, tickets an more. No apology or compensation was offered from the hotel. I really don't recommend it.

Very slow internet, cold shower, unconfortable bed and pillow.
Reception closes at 21h30, left guest stuck outside. Also the lift is shutdown during the night.
Only accepts Visa credit card.

Bad experience, my company black-listed this hotel. There are better options in the city.

The Leinehotel rooms are relatively comfortable, I was in a single with a single bed and en suite bathroom. It was cleaned daily though the bathroom smelt a bit unpleasant despite. The breakfast was decent though it didn't vary much. It is a bit far from town, though the walk is quite nice if it isn't raining.

The reason for my one star review is issues with the laundry. On check in I was told that a laundry service was offered, I asked how much it was and was told that it didn't cost. The in room guide mentioned no costs either.

I was pleased at this and put in my clothes to be washed. They came back two days later and were deposited in my room. All fine.

Then I go to check out and I've been charged a price of 16 euros, which is a huge price to play for a few t-shirts! I protested saying that I was told it was free, the receptionist told me nothing could be done, and charged my card.

16 euros is no small amount to this Australian traveller, and had I known I'd have washed my own clothes! While it may seem trivial, if it were not for this my review would have been far more positive - as it was I felt cheated and will seek other options for future returns to Göttingen. I'll likely suggest that the University use other accomodation for others like me travelling from overseas to stay in the town.

Worst Hotel I've stayed in, in a long time. Roon full of mosquitoes and insects. I booked double room with double bed and paid extra for this, I got a room with two single beds that move apart when lying on them. Lastly, customer service that night was so poor. Yes, some people call Germany"service dessert", places like this reinforce that stereotype.

Clean hotel, but don't facilitate each room with cattle for hot water.
