This was our second stay at this enchanting hotel. The name truly reflects its charm! Within these ancient walls, you can feel the history. Each room is individually furnished, perfectly combining antique furniture with modern amenities. We received a warm welcome and, after a straightforward check-in, were shown directly to our rooms. Our request for a bathtub, which we had mentioned in advance, was fulfilled, and once again, its unique integration into the room's design made it a delightful experience. Breakfast is served in the cozy fireplace room. There are tiered trays with a variety of fresh rolls and a selection of delicious items. Each guest is asked how they would like their breakfast egg: boiled, fried, scrambled... with or without bacon. If you fancy something different for breakfast, just ask. The truly friendly and attentive staff is always ready to help! We will definitely be back!

A very beautiful house with lots of charm. A lovely little courtyard. Very centrally located. Breakfast is served on tiered trays. Very friendly staff. As it's a listed building, some things aren't "perfect," but that's precisely what makes it so charming.

With only 9 rooms, Denkmal 13 is a very small hotel. The room was unique, and quite the opposite from the rather impersonal rooms you can find in larger hotels. The building itself is very old and charming, situated near the old harbour and the old town Wismar. The breakfast was splendid, and something we looked forward to every day. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was clean and welcoming. We will be happy to visit this hotel again.

We had a wonderful stay at Denkmal 13, unfortunately far too short. The hotel is truly unique, like something out of a bygone era. The atmosphere and staff were incredibly friendly; they fulfilled every wish whenever possible. Breakfast under the apple tree left nothing to be desired.

We had a room facing the street. It was very noisy due to the accommodation opposite, so we slept very poorly....The staff and breakfast were great.

I would actually give the staff 5 full marks. The service is superb. Questions are answered competently. The breakfast is varied, very well prepared, and requests regarding the food are fulfilled quickly and warmly. However, our room wasn't so great. The bed was awful. A very soft, saggy IKEA mattress (not a guess – it said so on the label), which also didn't fit the bed properly. There was a good 3 cm gap between the bed frame and the mattress. The bedding was equally bad. Extremely soft pillow. Not suitable for people over 40, or with neck problems, etc. I also found the bed linens very disappointing for the price of the room. Although the staff made the beds fresh every morning, the sheets slipped out of place again after 10 minutes at the latest when we went to bed because there were neither buttons nor zippers. Simply cheap... let's just say: every hospital has better bedding than this hotel. And the fact that the shower is just standing in the middle of the room might be interesting for some travelers. For us as a couple, it wasn't a problem. But if young people travel together without being in a relationship, it could indeed be an awkward situation. The hotel's location is fantastic, right by the harbor and the old town.

The toilet didn't flush properly, and the smell was too noticeable in the room.
The carpet didn't look clean.
The shower was like an aquarium in the middle of the room.
The bedding wasn't good (pillows and duvet).
