Seepark Heidenholz, Plau am See in Plau am See

I stayed in a holiday home with a lake view for a long autumn weekend with two small children. The location was fantastic, the view stunning, the amenities great, and it was very clean – perfect for a longer stay. We had breakfast and dinner, both delicious and authentic; the local fish dishes are highly recommended. The petting zoo, pony rides, and playground were ideal. There's a bathing area right by the water, which I imagine would be lovely in the summer. We didn't use the bike and boat rentals, but they are available. The pool and sauna area is nice. All the staff were incredibly friendly. We would definitely come back.

This year we had a terraced house, but unfortunately it was smaller than expected. The kitchenette consisted of two induction hobs and an oven with a microwave, two wall cabinets crammed with kitchen utensils, a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, and another cabinet with a trash can. So, you couldn't properly store your food; not everything belongs in the refrigerator, and it was too small anyway. The bedroom was very small, with just a small wardrobe that didn't hold much, certainly not for two people, as you had to be prepared for all kinds of weather. The so-called terrace was tiny.

The houses are very close together. Unfortunately, this meant you had to overhear every conversation.

The house got very hot during the day despite the exterior blinds, and at night you couldn't open the windows because of the mosquitoes; there simply weren't any fly screens. The restaurant had the same breakfast buffet as last year, and the menu hadn't changed either—it was boring. We won't be vacationing there again.

We had booked an apartment upstairs in one of the annexes. Upon arrival, we saw that the guests in the downstairs apartment had a dog. Since we are allergic to dogs, I went to reception and explained my predicament. The friendly staff member gave me keys to two terraced houses to look at, saying we could choose one. We opted for the terraced house for two people. Some of the houses had been renovated, and this was one of them. It was adequately and tastefully furnished. The kitchen was very well equipped. We felt very comfortable and were grateful for the alternative. The entire complex was very clean and well-maintained. Despite the children, it was very quiet. Breakfast was ample and constantly replenished. The staff were very friendly and kind. We ate dinner twice in the restaurant. There's something for everyone on the menu. In our opinion, it was sufficient, and the food was tasty. We brought our bicycles and explored the area extensively. The surroundings around the lake are beautiful. Overall a lovely short break. What bothered us was that some guests brought their large dogs to meals.

We celebrated my mother's 80th birthday here as a family and everyone really enjoyed it. We will be back definitely. The entire team of the restaurant deserves a special mention, Frank... from the service is very nice and hardworking. Everything was fresh and tasty, everyone lives here for their job. The only drawback, which we noticed, was the rather high accommodation price of the hotel. But the location is fantastic and you have the parking lot right in front of the door included in the price.

We are not guests of the holiday park, but have been guests in the restaurant twice in the evening. A small but very fine menu and a really great kitchen conjure up dishes from the old days. A solyanka or the farmer's breakfast is highly recommended. If you haven't tried the fish soup, you've missed something anyway.
We also had a lot of fun with the friendly service, thanks for the nice evenings.

We love coming back here every year, in summer or fall. Direct access to the lake with a private beach where there is always enough space. Every day pony rides, petting zoo and occasionally animal walks and horseback riding lessons.

Very good breakfast and delicious food in the restaurant. The houses are simple but very beautiful and everything you need is there.

If you need a little more comfort, take the lake view houses. We feel really comfortable here. Large area without cars, where the children have plenty of space.
