Gästehaus der Abtei Sayn Mini-hotel in Bendorf

This was our 3rd stopover at Abtei Sayn on our journey from the UK to Nuremberg. It is set in a wonderful wooded valley and so peaceful. We had a large room on the bottom floor next to a big kitchen with fridge/freezer, coffee machine, kettle, oven, teas & coffees and sweet treats all free for use. It was a very hot day, 32 degrees but the room remained lovely and cool despite having no air con due to its very thick walls. Had dinner at the nearby (and connected) Lindenhof restaurant, the schnitzel was beautifully cooked and very plentiful. The breakfast was again at the Lindenhof restaurant a 5 minute was away and was truly a gastronomic feast. Highly recommended. See more info on my older review.

We chose the private room. It was a nice, peaceful location, though the church bells ring at midnight and 6am. Breakfast was lovely.

Excellent place for a night's stay. Perfect breakfast. Quiet surroundings and nice park close by for a stroll. Not many dinner options nearby. Easy parking. Every time I am in the area, I stay here.

The atmosphere of the accommodation was so good, and the room was warm and comfortable!
It's in the mountains, but I like the feeling of the village, so I want to go there again!

Many positive things have already been said about this accommodation and we were generally enthusiastic about it as well. We were here in December and had two different rooms: one room on the ground floor with a very spacious (fairly new) bathroom and a smaller room on the first floor with a relatively old bathroom. The rooms are ok, but certainly not fantastic: quite dated and the water in the shower on the 1st floor did not drain properly. The mattresses were on the soft side. Early in the morning (if we remember correctly already at 6 o'clock!) the church bells started ringing and this is very noticeable if you sleep with the windows open. Perhaps something to bear in mind if you plan to come to this place in the summer, as there is obviously no air conditioning in the rooms. The location of the abbey/hotel is on the edge of (actually outside) Bendorf and is absolutely fantastic: quietly situated between the trees and hills and therefore a good starting point for various walks. In combination with the snow, this really felt like a fairy-tale. The breakfast room is also the check-in area and restaurant, a 5 / 10-minute walk from the abbey. The breakfast is luxurious and extensive and it is possible to order additional items such as extra bread or tea/coffee. We also had dinner here in the evening and the food was just as good. All in all: reasonable rooms, but above all a fantastic location with good breakfast and evening meals.

A very nice hotel right on the Rheinsteig. It was so quiet there that we could really relax. And the breakfast was just incredibly delicious and extensive 😋. We recommend!!!

The room was very large, everything that was needed was there. The bathroom was also very large - about 18 square meters -. We felt good. Breakfast was taken in the Lindenhof restaurant. This is about 300 m away. Accessible through the park or by car across the street. The breakfast alone was awesome. Everything is homemade and super fresh. The egg dishes were also - no matter what - freshly prepared and delicious. Fresh Orange Juice. Coffee and various types of tea. The photos speak for themselves. It's worth going back for breakfast alone. Many thanks again to the "girl" in service, she is great. The coffee kitchen, which was next to our room was freely available. Tea and coffee were sufficient and varied, as well as a large basket with sweets - Mars, Nuts, Bounty, etc. If you want to eat in the restaurant in the evening, you should reserve a table when booking. The restaurant is very popular, hence the note. Unfortunately, we had no luck getting to know the kitchen in this regard. Unfortunately it was fully booked.

I have been there a couple of times. It's a great experience that I can recommend to everyone. Very great if you are hiking.
