Where to stay in Sankt Goar

I wish if lift goes to all floors. Since I had carry up heavy luggages by steps from ground to the 1st floor and another steep steps ffom the highest floor for the lift on the 3rd floor to upper floor where the room was located, I twisted and injured my knee. Not serious I hope, but may take time to recover. Everything else was wonderful. Very good accommodation.

We spent three nights at the hotel. The entire property is very well maintained, and the location is excellent especially during meals, as the view of the Rhine is absolutely stunning. The spa area is on the smaller side. There are only four loungers in the pool area, and the sauna is also a bit small. The rooms aren’t extraordinary, but they are clean and well kept. The food menu is not extensive...

Absolutely beautiful hotel and spa. The views of the Rhine from the deck and the restaurant were amazing. The food was great the staff were very helpful.

There was good and not so good about our stay. We had to wait over 20 minutes to check while the staff member tried to resolve issues with another guest. That was unfortunate but understandable, but I was never acknowledged and when I was able to begin, was abandoned to another guest before completing. Was never told anything about the property including breakfast location and hours or spa location...

This was the best hotel during our journey through Germany and Austria. Checks all the boxes for excellence. The room is large and very convenient with all the amenities. Views of the Rhein Gorge from the large windows are really spectacular. Their breakfast also has plenty to choose from. Spent 2 nights in a comfort room and standard room. Both great nights, very comfy beds. Great river views. To be honest I'm not sure what the difference between the price categories was, but either way prices were reasonable and we were happy. Didn't try restaurant as reviews were poor. Had 2x meals in the town.

We generally liked the personal touch during our stay. Whether it's preference for bread in the breakfast or accommodating our stroller downstairs in the reception so we will have more space in the room. Hotel is in a good location, minutes away from the train station & in the main street of St Goar. Hotel, rooms & bathroom were very clean. Bed was comfortable, good pillows, bathroom with shower, good water pressure. Room had balcony with views down main street. No airconditioning, but provided fan. I have been to Sankt Goar many times and always stay at Hotel zur Loreley It has been 10 years since I was last in Germany. The hotel has new owners who are great. The rooms are great, new paint, TVs, bets and everything is new. I loved it. Breakfast was great. I hope to come here again soon.

Hotel zur Loreley provided the perfect respite during my recent hiking trip. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was greeted with warm hospitality. My room was featuring a wonderfully soft bed with fluffy pillows, a desk, and a spotless bathroom. All the amenities, including the shower were in perfect working order. One of the best hotel experiences of my life. When me and my friend arrived around 19:00 there was only a German family there playing games but they let us in and we checked ourselves in. Had an amazing night with the Germans and a story to tell for the rest of my life

Just went to the restaurant. Food was nice, though it took quite some time to be ready, but as usual for restaurants fairly pricey. In general a typical restaurant.

Service was excellent. Very helpful! Very accommodating. Food in Restaurant was delicious. We had to leave early so they packed up breakfast for us. I would highly recommend !!

We didn't stay here, but came for lunch and it was great! The food was really tasty, excellent schnitzel, pasta, and wurst. The staff was very kind and accommodating for our two little kids (ages 1 and 4).

A beautiful and historic gem! Hotel Zum Goldenen Löwen is a truly charming place in the heart of St. Goar. We had dinner in the restaurant. The food was very tasty and nice; we ate everything. The waiter was also very nice with a sense of humour (from Marosvásárhely/Románia) and he recognised our speech when we were talking in Hungarian. The only reason I took 1 star; we could not pay with card, only with cash. In 2021 using cash in a hotel restaurant is not an option...

Very affordable, clean, cozy, friendly staff. The staff was so helpful that when we forgot an item in the nearby castle, they helped reach out to the castle and coordinated the pickup for us.

Comfortable 2 night stay. Reasonably priced budget option single room, perfectly comfortable for 2 nights. Wonderful river views for extra charge but definitely a must. Lovely breakfast and good wifi. Did not need parking. Right next to train station.

Loved the beautilful patio view. Friendly staff. Warned of water bugs, to keep lights off at night. Pillow smelled bad, like BO. Spacious room.

Boat for the Rhine river cruise and ferry ride to other side of the river conveniently located in front of the hotel. Plenty restaurants nearby. 20 minutes walk to Rheinfels castle.

Lovely little hotel on the Rhine This is a lovely hotel in a great location. We had a room with balcony with a gorgeous view of the Rhine. The room was a nice size and very clean. The hotel itself is older and a little out of date, but it was maintained well. It’s a short walk to the train station and the boat dock. It was a perfect home base to explore the rest of the middle Rhine.
