Very affordable, clean, cozy, friendly staff. The staff was so helpful that when we forgot an item in the nearby castle, they helped reach out to the castle and coordinated the pickup for us.

The property was very well maintained. Great location close to the train station. The buffet breakfast was Ok but not the best value for money we have seen. Staff were very friendly. The room was a little tired and could use an upgrade to the flooring

Comfortable 2 night stay.
Reasonably priced budget option single room, perfectly comfortable for 2 nights.
Wonderful river views for extra charge but definitely a must. Lovely breakfast and good wifi. Did not need parking. Right next to train station.

Loved the beautilful patio view. Friendly staff. Warned of water bugs, to keep lights off at night. Pillow smelled bad, like BO. Spacious room.

Stay somewhere else
Needs some updates. Carpet in the hallway and bedroom looked very old. Dark hallway. until you walk into it. We could hear people walking above our room. Linens & bathroom were clean. Breakfast was good.

Boat for the Rhine river cruise and ferry ride to other side of the river conveniently located in front of the hotel. Plenty restaurants nearby. 20 minutes walk to Rheinfels castle.

Lovely little hotel on the Rhine
This is a lovely hotel in a great location. We had a room with balcony with a gorgeous view of the Rhine. The room was a nice size and very clean.

The hotel itself is older and a little out of date, but it was maintained well. It’s a short walk to the train station and the boat dock. It was a perfect home base to explore the rest of the middle Rhine.

The river view room with large opening windows was perfect! Building was a little tired but expected. Breakfast was great! We would stay again.

The owners are very invested in their property and it shows in terms of cleanliness, friendliness, and overall experience. Every staff person is helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The location couldn’t be better! Would highly recommend and will stay again when in that area.

Our room had a balcony with the most beautiful view of the Rhine and a castle that was lit up and glowed in the night. The location was outstanding- Rhine cruise pier is right out front and the train is a block away. We took the train to Bingen and the Rhine cruise back to Sanct Goar to see the many castles along the way. The large, bright breakfast room has a view of the Rhine and the most friendly service with many choices. The Indian gentleman at the front desk was very helpful in helping us locate a nearby ebike rental shop in Bacharach. He was very pleasant to chat with as well. Parking was free and a short walk from the hotel.

We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful little historic hotel! The gentleman who runs the hotel is super friendly and the customer service was 10/10. I loved the experience of staying at a small, individually owned hotel compared to a big chain hotel. Additionally, our room was bright and clean and had a beautiful view onto the Rhine River and Katz Castle. It's only a few minutes walk to the ferry that will take you across the water where you can then head to the famous Loreley lookout. We had a wonderful experience here and would definitely stay again!

A beautiful and historic gem!
Hotel Zum Goldenen Löwen is a truly charming place in the heart of St. Goar. The elegant facade and the well-preserved traditional interior reflect the soul and history of this timeless building. You can really feel its age and character, yet it offers all the modern comfort you need. A perfect spot for a peaceful and authentic stay in a picturesque setting. Highly recommended!

Absolutely best experience, the staff was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond expectations. Breathtaking views, surreal story book setting, staying here felt like a dream. Wow, bravo !
