Ratswaage in Magdeburg

We've been going there for many years. Wonderful breakfast buffet. The staff are very courteous. Kathleen, in particular, stands out.

Thank you to the excellent team of Ratswaage Hotel for the wonderful time. It is an exquisite hotel. The service is diverse and very lovely and helpful. Whatever you wish, they help. The room was spacious, not small as all these other four-star or even five-star hotels, where you can't even do a Yoga exercise as you hit the walls or the bed everywhere. The breakfast had everything of very good quality, from vegan, vegetarian to the classics of smoked fish, and salmon to lovely sausages, ham, bouletten, what ever you like. I could have spent hours there also due to the Spa with a salt cave and sauna with swimming pool. To the outside it does not look like the Ritz, but from the inside it is my personal Ritz. And the bar was so kind to keep up with a large group of film producers discussing their projects till late. We had a great stay !

Centrally located hotel with limited on site parking. We got the last space left! Friendly staff, lovely bar area which is well stocked. Didn’t sample food, so cannot comment. Good size room with comfortable bed and decent bedding. Bathroom was a good size with a shower. The only negatives are that everything is dated, but all is functional, so can’t complain. Any why oh why do hotels always charge for a bottle of water in your room. This is my pet hate. No tea/coffee making facilities and you have to pay for water. Very irritating especially when you’ve driven 500 miles!

We were staying in the hotel for a few days then heading off by bike. The staff were perfect. Excellent breakfasts. Good bike storage. Nice pool area. Good location on the main street next to transport. The only downside was that the room was very hot on arrival as it faced the sun (September but still very hot and curtains left open). I see the responses to other reviews from the hotel saying that they do provide rooms with A/C but travellers are not likely to know how hot the standard rooms get (booked by a good agent). In summary, Magdeburg is a great city and this hotel is good but if you are from a cooler country, choose a room with AC.

Big hotel, big comfortable room, clean and well maintained. No A/C, no fridge in the room. Centrally located, lots of amenities around. Own parking garage for 12€/day, although not directly accessible from the lobby (some 100m walk with luggage). Public parking is also available.

The staff is very friendly, and the hotel is charming and clean. The location is perfect, which allows you to walk or catch the location transportation at ease. I highly recommend anyone visiting the Magdeburg area to stay here, given the price is unbeatable given its location. The breakfast spread is amazing too
