The hotel was empty and for the price very nice. The people having it was so friendly, and we had the best pommes of our trip. They were amazing. Very nice spot to have as start point for the very nice area. Do take the old train from Drei Annan hoche - we loved it

We chose the hotel by "finger on the map." The two of us stayed there briefly in April. The hotel exudes a slight GDR charm, which we didn't mind. Our room was spacious and clean. The furnishings aren't ultra-modern, but they are functional. It might be worth bringing your usual pillow from home. The evening menu is straightforward, and the breakfast is good: everything from fresh rolls to cheese, sausage, eggs, muesli, yogurt, juices, and more is available. We were very impressed by the very friendly and attentive service! The staff is very attentive and helpful. The village of Elend was the ideal starting point for various excursions to Blankenburg, Thale, Wernigerode, Braunlage, and so on. There are also excellent hiking opportunities around Elend. The steam-powered Brocken Express train stops in the village. Overall, the hotel is highly recommended. We have already booked our next stay there for September.

The town of ELEND is perfectly located for all tours in the Harz Mountains; you can easily walk to Schierke and the Brocken, and the Harz narrow-gauge railway is also connected. The town isn't a particularly touristy attraction, but it is lovingly maintained. We were amazed, for example, by the Easter decorations at the roundabout and the restoration of the church. The same goes for the hotel. It's not a wellness or gourmet temple, but it does offer delightful hospitality. We were truly welcomed; we could have stayed in our room with its large conservatory-like living area for a month. We slept fantastically in the new bed. The village's tranquility is also a plus. The hotel looks as if it has seen better days, but we were repeatedly amazed by the loving renovations: windows, doors, furniture. The staff, with their friendly, relaxed manner, make you feel at home. We appreciated the very good breakfast with delicious coffee, as well as the perfect Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and the restaurant in the evening after a long tour. And yes, the value for money is fantastic. Thank you so much!
