Slept one night at Torgauer Brauhof after playing on In flammen festival. The price was really good, service was fine and the rooms where big, clean and modern. +++ Great beds.

Years back, I hit this place upon a bicycle tour. I have been starting at Hamburg, went up the Elbe towards Dresden. The rumor about a dam trail still exists... On most places it is even not allowed to ride on the dam. Understand: you may destroy this sensitive construction. Here I had a night. Nice and safe place. Friendly and helpful staff. Moderate prices. Good local food and drinks. It's Germany...

Great breakfast but noisy We loved our trip to Wittenburg which was a beautiful little town on the Elbe. This hotel was conveniently located, and the breakfast was great. I would probably stay somewhere else next time, only because the rooms were small and it was noisy next to the train tracks and main road and people would stand outside talking and smoking so it was hard to sleep with the window open

The staff was helpful but the hotel never left the 80's. Of real concern was a fire alarm on our first night there, total confusion and the fire department never did arrive. It's a good hotel for a night or two but it appears to be mostly for transient workers now. Again the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Very good hotel with easy access to Luther’s Museums.

Friendly front desk, good breakfast buffet. Convenient to walk to / through the Altstadt.

It was convenient to access because it was right next to the Luther Museum, and breakfast was all necessary, and it was convenient to use the facility.

The breakfast was excellent. The location is convenient to the train station and to explore the old town. The bed was not very comfortable.

Sadly, the shower was full of black mold which there is no excuse for as may products will remove it.

Quiet, clean, staff was efficient. It was as advertised, walkable to all of the major historic sites.

Loved the hotel ! We visited primarily to visit Martin Luther sites…though we also fell on love with town of Wittenberg, such a cool town…we ate a n Italian restaurant (close to church on other side of tow -which was walkable)…that was excellent

Great location in the heart of Wittenberg, just steps from the all the major Luther sights. Our room was basic but functional with a comfortable bed, large desk, and plenty of natural light. The bathroom was clean and practical. Everything was well maintained. A solid value for travelers prioritizing location and cleanliness over luxury.

We had a very nice stay. The room was a little too small for a Business (3 level higher than the basic one), but it was VERY clean. We managed to visit the sauna when it was completely empty (they told us it was luck) and it was really great - especially the quiet terrace among the roofs of the city. Just beautiful. The hotel is in a great location with a pleasant atmosphere. The rooms were clean, though there was no air conditioning and the WiFi in the rooms was practically non-existent. On the plus side, the extensive buffet breakfast was excellent.

Perfect Location. Perfect Staff. Perfect room. Located right at the Marketplace Square, 5 minute walk to Tour Information center, 5 minute walk from Lutherstadt Wittenberg Alstadt train station. This is unique lodging, where the famous painter Lucas Cranach, lived and had his workshop in the time of Martin Luther. Despite its age (and charm), the beverage has all the desirable modern amenities. As I said the Tobias, the friendly, efficient and helpful person at reception, our only regret is not staying longer.

The history of the property is amazing. The double room, with bathroom, was simple but perfect for our needs; clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is perfect for exploring Lutherstadt; so much to see and take in. Many of the buildings have plaques that indicate who lived there and the dates. I had a wonderful stay. The service was fantastic, and the breakfast was excellent! The location is convenient for accessing the town. I highly recommend this place.

The biggest advantage is that the hotel bathroom window opens wide. It is not far from tourist attractions such as the Wittenberg Castle Church, and is an overall decent hotel. When using the parking lot, it is very inconvenient to push and pull the heavy, sooty iron bar and lock it.

I am in the middle of my stay at this hotel-pension, and I have been favorably impressed with everything so far. The rooms are spotless, plenty of hot water in the showers, decent beds, and in a quiet area of town. It’s a family operated hotel that makes a person feel comfortable with staying there. Nothing fancy as in big city chain hotels, but exactly what I wanted.

Lovely little place to stay when you are visiting Wittenberg. Close to the centre of town, yet very quit and peacefull. The only downsides are no balconies nor parking spaces. Parking in town is cheap, though.

I emailed for dinner reservation and they were quick to respond, they even saved us the corner booth! It was good meal and reasonably priced. We speak very little german and the staff spoke little english, but were very helpful and patient with helping us.

Boutique Hotel Schwarzer Baer is in a convenient location, right in the middle of town. Our room was clean and well updated. The only complaint was the water pressure. The value of the hotel is excellent! Parking is available on site at a minimal fee. They serve a good breakfast.

Had an overnight stay at Hotel Schwarzer. Staff were very helpful and professional. They allowed us to keep our luggage in storage even before checking in. (It would have been cumbersome to lug them all over the place.) My husband and I loved our stay at this hotel. The manager was very kind. She let us store our luggage and even called us a taxi so we did not have to walk in the rain to the train station. It is a little historical town that is good for daily visits. There are some museums and beautiful buildings that you can check out and learn about historical figures & events. Even though I visited this place in August, it was really quiet and there weren’t a lot of tourists. Throughout the town you can find shops and cafes. Cafes were okay but most of the shops were closed during my visit on a Saturday...

Very nice location for small to large events, from weddings to family celebrations, workshops, dance. Almost anything can take place here. The hotel rooms are tastefully and modernly furnished. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff is super nice and also adheres to the hygiene regulations.

If you value a special ambience and don't want to stay in the "08/15 Hotel", the Piesteritzer Hof is the right place for you! Beautifully located in a historic settlement about 10 minutes by bike from the center, a friendly and appealing room and, last but not least, friendly staff and a very committed, open and courteous boss. This clearly speaks for 5 out of 5 stars!

There is very nice place. The birds singing a lot. There is very quiet and the rooms are ok. The breakfasts are ok. The staff is also friendly.

We stayed there with a group of 12 in April 2019 for 3 nights. The staff was extreme friendly and helpful , rooms were very clean, food was delicious. The Hotel is about 6 km away from Wittenberg in a nice quite area. We would book anytime again. Tanks to the friendly team
