As soon as we arrived, our child noticed a small bug on his pillow. Unfortunately, we didn't realize immediately it was a louse, but thought it was a harmless insect. Our child got louses as a souvenir from the hotel. In a 5-star hotel, you wouldn't expect something like this to be possible. Excellent location, right on the beach. Yet plenty of other restaurants and shops in walking distance. Lovely, bright, spacious rooms with great views. The lobby has cosy seating for afternoon tea. Breakfast was a real highlight; served in a restaurant with massive windows, a big patio and great selection of food. We sat and chatted for hours! Excellent service, pool, fitness area, room with balcony and spectacular view over the bay. Breakfast was superb. In a hotel with three or more stars, I would expect tea and coffee making facilities as standard equipment. A coffee machine was provided only on request.

I have stayed here on 3 different occasions and it remains one of my favorite hotels. The breakfast alone is worth the trip, but the rooms are well appointed and the staff is very friendly. I've stayed in many hotels where they claim to be 5 star but they were lacking in many areas. That's just not the case here and I'm a little surprised at the harsh comments from other people.

The room was very nice, with a view of the sea. I really enjoyed the wellness on the first day. I went to the restaurant and ate schnitzel, which was also very good.

Really lovely hotel, all of the staff offered great service, the room was a great standard and the view was amazing. Highly recommend upgrading to the deluxe room if you stay.

Great location, unfortunately a hotel in need of renovation with too many flaws: -Rooms: carelessly and haphazardly furnished. Artificial flowers, low-quality materials, fittings partly calcified, partly tarnished. -Spa: Saunas with a great view, but unfortunately completely without charm, not enough loungers, water is served in containers that are far too small and are always empty. One star deducted for the lack of WiFi in our room, and the hotel can't be held responsible for the stolen flip-flops in the hotel sauna. Still, it's a shame that something like that spoiled our stay a little. Otherwise, everything was very nice.

We spent our holiday in Scharbeutz with 4 generations and everyone felt completely at home at Bayside.
