Taxiarchis in Symi

Absolutely lovely. Stayed at this traditional Greek lodging house lots of times with Frank and family. Super friendly, spotlessly clean and, if you have the breakfast, it's one of the best views on the Island and the food is first class.
Although I love the location do be aware that it is on a hill, and that going anywhere from Taxiarchis involves both steep up and down.

Family owned and super tranquil. My balcony looked down over Pedi Beach. Frank was kind enough to pick me up and drop me back at the port. Make sure to buy your return ticket. I didn't understand it but Frank said the agency wouldn't allow him to drop me off - then l showed him my ticket. Probably some bureaucratic thing.

Rooms are nicer than many basic Greek apartments, and included a double bed, which is unusual. Plenty of towels available although the kitchen utensils were sparse, only two mugs for three of us, for example. Air-conditioning is available for an additional fee, and was essential during our visit.
It's a good walk from both the harbour and Pedi beach (each about 20 mins in opposite directions) and is 378 steps up from the harbour (also up from the beach), but if you're up for that challenge, it's a lovely location in Chorio with nearby supermarket, bakery and a couple of restaurants.

We had an amazing stay with our 5 children. Our youngest daughter birthday was very well celebrated they made a cake with candles and sing Creek birthday song all together The areas island how you imagine Greece it would be for 1000f years ago. With all the comfort of modern times without mass tourism. Absolute coming back to snorkeling the beautiful beaches

Freshly renovated rooms and bathrooms. The view over Pedi Bay - not the island main harbour - is lovely and the surroundings are quiet and peaceful (except for the occasional goat or poultry). The family that runs it goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. A relaxing place of quiet beauty.
