Anixis Hotel & Apartments in Ialyssos

I stayed here for one night on my way to Karpathos but spent part of day here on my way back from Tilos, waiting to be collected to go to the airport in Sept.24. I also spent some time here on my way back from Karpathos,this is the main reason for my review. On the last night of my holiday in Karpathos I was not very well,my stomach was of it. I was collected from the hotel at 5.30am and had a 4hr40min crossing on a ferry to Rhodes. Wasn't really looking forward to it. I was picked up by a pre arranged Taxi at Rhodes port and taken back to the Anixis to wait until I was collected and taken to the airport for a late night flight. I was feeling rough so asked the owner Glynnis if she had a room I could use for the duration until my collection time. Not only did she oblige but also contacted Olympic,who I booked the holiday through,to see if they would stand the cost. They wouldn't but she only charged me 30euros. I also asked if there was a chemist near by, she said there was and asked what I needed, I told her , she said follow me , we went through a back door to a mini market,which is part of her hotel and on a shelf behind the counter was what I needed. It was her husband running the mini market,so I was introduced to him and her sons who also work in the hotel. I then went to my room and got some much needed sleep. But what lovely people they are. I can't praise them enough. They made me feel comfortable when I needed it. The room was a basement one but it was all I needed, it was spotless and the bed was more comfortable than the one in Karpathos. It's a good bar and they do food as well,there were plenty of tables and chairs. The only downside for me was it's up a side street off a very busy main road,which you have to cross to get to the beach. As I like to visit the smaller quieter Aegean Islands,I have a feeling I'll be seeing the Anixis again.

Just home from our first holiday in Rhodes. So pleased we chose the Anixis. Our flight to Rhodes was delayed by 9 hours, and we finally arrived at the hotel at 4am. Glynis (the owner) had organised for George and David to wait up for us and to show us to our apartment. What incredible service. Caroline (the manager) cooked us breakfast in the morning. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Everything is immaculately clean. Glynis knows all her guests by name and ensures that everyone is happy, a huge contrast with experiences in larger hotels and characterless chain hotels. Thank you Glynis and team for ensuring we had a wonderful holiday. We’ll be back!

Great apartments, always lovely and clean and a good size. Nice friendly staff, and a good location. All in all a great place for a family holiday. Owners are always very welcoming and helpful.

Amazing holiday lovely ground floor 2 bedroom apartment Glynis very lovely person could not do enough for us and great touch of end off our holiday with the gifts she gave us Caroline amazing warm hearted lady Apartment had everything we needed Absolutely cleaned well every day a little early some mornings when only just got up lol George and David in evening was brilliant Shop attached to apartment had everything you would need Pool was very clean no fighting for sunbeds as there plenty of them We would stay again 😀

Absolutely loved it,Glynis was very welcoming, Caroline was amazing, her breakfasts are the best,Dave and George behind the bar in the evening were brilliant ,definitely coming back.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment recently, just for 2 nights, due to a medical emergency with my daughter. As previous reviews mention, Glynnis and her team, Caroline, David and George couldn’t have been more kind and helpful. It was very comforting to have such genuine people around during a family crisis, nothing was too much trouble, even when we arrived around midnight. The apartment itself had everything we needed and the kitchenette was ideal with 2 small children to feed. Special mention to the powerful shower in the bathroom! Once again thanks to the owners and staff who really made a difference to a stressful end to our holiday.

Had a one night stay here when we had to leave Halki early owing to weather. The room was fairly basic but spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. there was plenty of hot water for the shower and aircon was powerful. What made our time there was the staff, I have never stayed anywhere where they have been as helpful and accommodating. They had a genuine warmth. Thank you

Great holiday with family, been coming to Anixis for over 25+ years.. clean rooms, Glynnis and Stamatis are amazing humans and will do anything for you.. Caroline is a diamond and her breakfasts are 5* and the boys George and David who run the bar on a evening are amazing and make the best cocktails... brilliant for family holidays or couples. Have made many friends in rhodes over the years...

We had a last minute emergency on our recent trip to Rhodes which caused us to miss our flight for UK. Having already checked out of our holiday hotel with no availability for a one night stay we discovered this little gem. Myself and my children arrived late in the evening and had the warmest welcome we have ever received on arrival. Glynis showed a lot of compassion, offered assistance after hours and genuinely wanted to help. Luckily my husband was discharged from the hospital that night and we safely came back to UK. Nevertheless, we had the best breakfast, we could see warm conversations between staff and guests who clearly were repeat customers. Glynis personally saw us off which was really kind. The hotel itself is clean, Aircon available in each room, comfy beds and a lovely shower. A little kitchenette is handy to have for those who want to cook a little. Would definitely recommend.
