Vithos Aparthotel in Astypalaia Town

This must be our favourite place to stay in all of Greece! The proximity to everything is great but the view from the balcony was just incredible. Such friendly staff and impeccably clean accommodation. Already planning to come back next year!

Magnificent view of the port and the castle. Very friendly staff. Mrs Dimitra is very helpful. Modern rooms and comfortable with all the amenities.

The people were very nice

Probably the best place to stay on Astypalia. Others may be fancier, larger, with pool whatever. Unless you enjoy climbing stairs up and down or don’t care about the beach, Vithos has hands down the best location on the island. You get to the beach and to Antikastro, one of the best restaurants without going up the admittedly steep climb to the street. If you are concerned about top quality shower, sound proof, etc. - don’t go to a Greek island. Enjoy a boring 5-star hotel chain.

There is a full (!) kitchen and a washing machine. The Wi-Fi is very slow but the cellular service is very good. (107/28 Mbit) - make sure your plan has enough data.

Definitely get the AstyMove app for the eBus service and cars. There is a VW ID3 outside the hotel. You open it with your phone and off you go without negotiating with a rental person. Longer-term rentals are cheaper when rented in town. The e-moving pilot project is EU sponsored and perfect unless you live remotely and need to drive. Very comfortable and well located apartment hotel with great views of the Chora across the water. Large verandas which are great to enjoy a glass of wine in the early evenings or a coffee early in the morning. Room was simple, a bit dated but big and equipped with all the basics you need for your holiday. The communication prior to the arrival was great and the arrangement of our pick-up from airport was appreciated.
