Geranion Village in Nikiti

We stayed at Geranion Village for 6 nights. The rooms were clean, the balcony was nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

Unfortunately, the hotel did not live up to its 4-star rating. The food was the biggest disappointment: breakfast was very poor with little variety, and dinner was repetitive with the same salads and desserts almost every night. There was hardly any fresh fruit, limited options for lactose-intolerant guests, and no labels on the food, making it difficult to know what was being served.

The hotel charges extra for many things, including pool towels. Despite advertising produce from its own garden, even the orange juice seemed to be a basic supermarket product.

The location is very remote. Without a car, your options are mostly staying by the pool or taking the shuttle to the beach, making it difficult to explore the area independently.

Overall, you pay for a 4-star hotel but receive an experience that feels much closer to a 2-star property. The staff were wonderful, but we would not return.

As a British family of 3 we spent a week here and we loved the location, views, landscaping, nature and the general feel of the place. Food here was excellent if a little repetitive after a few days but hygiene seemed excellent. Not so good was the noise from adjoining rooms and standard of some of the fittings in the room although it has to be said that at the price we paid we really weren’t expecting a palace! Importantly it felt safe and secure. What upset us most though was our last night! Dinner is advertised as 1900-2100 and so with our 4 year old daughter not feeling so good we didn’t make it down until 2030. As we were seated away from the restaurant we were surprised to find at 2105 that everything had been packed away meaning we couldn’t have any main or desert course! I understand that the time had gone past 2100 but on previous nights when regular guests had been present the whole buffet stayed out whilst people were in the restaurant, and if someone had simply explained it was going to be removed we’d have had no issues with serving ourselves then! The owners son had been really charming up until the point I queried this and bizarrely became quite aggressive! It really was a sad way to end a lovely holiday. If I could, I’d choose to rate at 3.5 as it would be a 4 but for the last night.
