Where to stay in Ios

Very close to the port which made it easy getting on and off the ferry. Jessica in reception was very friendly and helpful. It was a decent up hill walk to the centre but the bus was €2 and runs every 15 minutes to both Chora and Mylopotas. The hotel rooms were basic but very clean and the rooms have everything you could want.

Stayed 1 night at the Acteon hotel. Rooms are ok standard, but paper thin doors so you basically here everything going on ..... Nice view over the port and 10 steps from the bus to chora/mylopotas beach. So for 1-2 nights stopover it's ok, price too. 60 Euro, in high season.

Myself and 3 friends stayed at Acteon for 3 nights in July. The rooms were clean, and we had a balcony with a good view of the port. However, we were slightly disappointed as we were told that we'd have a safe in the room (there wasn't) and the wifi was very temperamental, we had to sit on the floor right by the door to access it and they only give you 24 hour usage. It was our first holiday as a couple after five years. Such a wonderful place. To be sure we booked to The Acteon cause our ferry arrived at 1am. This is a budget hotel so your expectations should be low, however I thought it represented good value for money at the time of booking and is perfect for a one night stopover, any longer and you might want to travel further. I wanted somewhere for one night beside the ferry port so I could explore Ios Chora for a night without having to drag my bags too far, this was just right. The room was clean...

I booked this hotel when I decided to break up my trip from Paros back to Santorini. I specifically wanted somewhere close to port and this hotel was easy to spot from getting off the boat. When you arrive you'll find a door with a sign for the hotel but it isn't obvious that what you need to do is call in to the adjacent Acteon travel agency and they'll complete registration there.
