Acteon Hotel

Very close to the port which made it easy getting on and off the ferry. Jessica in reception was very friendly and helpful. It was a decent up hill walk to the centre but the bus was €2 and runs every 15 minutes to both Chora and Mylopotas. The hotel rooms were basic but very clean and the rooms have everything you could want.

It was our first holiday as a couple after five years. Such a wonderful place. To be sure we booked to The Acteon cause our ferry arrived at 1am. When we contacted the Lady to arrange how to get in the room she has been very kind and available. The next morning she welcomed us and guide us about good breakfast, nice beaches and parties. We were surprised about her organization. Especially cause I forgot my makeup trousse in a restaurant the last night there (terrible for a girl, more for the sentimental value being that it is a gift), as soon as I called her she immediately went there to take it. What else to say, such a lovely person. Furthermore, the room was perfect for the situation. I mean very cosy, clean and furnished. Even if the cleaner start at 10 in the morning and you leave later you will find your room clean and tidy. It is not a common fact, in my experiences. Despite bad opinion, you are going in holiday so you don't need a Royal Suite. Try to enjoy outside. If you wanna stay in the room passing your time criticizing badly cause you don't have a jacuzzi to wash the sand on you then move away and pay more somewhere else. I mean, we are 19 and 22, so you can imagine how we are disorganized and caotic, but we lived in there peacefully and confortably. I felt that We paid the right amount for four nights in a well maintained room. Great place, rounded by rental shop, 24h mini market with fresh pastries and restaurants. I wont never regret about our choice and we are looking forward to go back. Go in holiday, sit back and enjoy the view!

This is a budget hotel so your expectations should be low, however I thought it represented good value for money at the time of booking and is perfect for a one night stopover, any longer and you might want to travel further. I wanted somewhere for one night beside the ferry port so I could explore Ios Chora for a night without having to drag my bags too far, this was just right. The room was clean and comfortable if somewhat basic. Wi-Fi was excellent, view from the room was good, the air-con was just a little temperamental. It's near some places to eat & drink, there's a supermarket nearby as well as a beach, and outside there's the bus stop taking you up the hill to Chora or Mylopotas beach.

I booked this hotel when I decided to break up my trip from Paros back to Santorini. I specifically wanted somewhere close to port and this hotel was easy to spot from getting off the boat. When you arrive you'll find a door with a sign for the hotel but it isn't obvious that what you need to do is call in to the adjacent Acteon travel agency and they'll complete registration there. There isn't a reception as such. You then access the rooms via that door. There doesn't appear to be a lift. The stairs aren't terrible steep but they are winding in places. I had a twin room on the second floor - quite spacious with tv/hairdryer/fridge/AC and good wi fi access. No in room safety deposit box. The bathroom has a shower cubicle and is a big room. There's both a window and door out to the balcony on which there were two chairs. No table, although I noticed the other balconies were furnished with them. There was a great view from the balcony over the main square and port. I had a good night's sleep in a firm but comfortable bed. There's no meal plan at this hotel but there are places to get breakfast all around and a bakery where you can get takeaway coffee, etc. Check out is by noon. The island bus stop is just across the road to take you to the beach and Chora. There's also Yialos beach a few yards away. Being October Ios bore little resemblance to the party isle of summer but there were still amenities open and people around.

The staff were so lovely and it was a beautiful spot right by the water. The room was clean and came with the essentials. It is at the bottom of the hill that you can either take a car or Vespa up (unsure if there is a bus) or a short walk up so it is dependent on your itinerary and how long you plan to stay on . The beach is a short walk away with restaurants along the water. One was open in the evenings in January which was lovely and of course others in the town above. This place is very convenient for island hoppers who want to be close to the ferry port in the morning.

Acteon Hotel ..... reasonable price for accommodation. Staffs are nice. Hiring cars are a bit expensive 70 euros a day so we only hire it for 1 day enough to see Ios island. Clean hotel and shops and restaurants were just downstairs of the hotel. Port is in your doorsteps but the view is best of all.

We only stayed one night at Hotel Aegeon as part of an island hop trip, and that was our only complain. But that was enough to realize that this is such a hidden treasure in Ios, a place where we definitely want to return for a longer stay. Nikos, the owner is so welcoming, I have never encountered somebody as friendly, accommodating and always ready to help no matter how busy he is. We were surprised that even though we had just one night reservation he did not hesitate to wait for us at the ferry, take us back and even giving us a ride into the city in the evening. Who else in Greece will do the same thing in the peak of the season? The hotel has a perfect location, right across from the beautiful beach, between a grocery/convenience market and a very nicely setup Italian restaurant/beach bar. Relatively close to the city on one side and walking distance to the Far Out Beach Club. What can you ask more? The hotel itself is made of a few buildings, very beautifully architected, modern but preserving the local traditions. Balconies framed by green tropical plants, where you can simply just sit and enjoy a drink, everything around you is awesome!! The hotel grounds were very well taken care of, again, with a superb landscaping. The swimming pool and the area around, even though they were rather small size, were so elegantly made and practical at the same time. Rooms were a decent size, extremely clean with AC working perfectly. The breakfast was included in the stay and it was served to us on the outside area, by the pool. Good and tasty selection and the best coffee we had in Greece. Nikos, hats off to you, you made this place a heaven for your guests!!!

Wonderful hotel and amazing professionals. Comfortable renovated and modern rooms with beautiful design!! The location is top with everything nearby and Acteon provides full travel services for everything you may need!! The best option in Ios♡♡♡♡!!
