Everything was perfect. We missed absolutely nothing, the owner of the hotel was very friendly and helped us with a lot of information. The breakfast was tasty! Also the air conditioning and pool made our vacation quite pleasant. I highly recommend

We have just spent ten days staying in this lovely little hotel. Our room (No 2) was ideal for us. On a corner, first floor, with double doors on two sides onto a nice balcony overlooking the pool. It has a basin, fridge, some plates/cutlery and a kettle etc so morning tea and home-made lunch in the room is perfect. Supermarket nearby. Bed comfortable and large. Towels and linen changed regularly. Room always made up daily. The bathroom is small but ok with shower, basin and toilet. Breakfast is a nice selection of food and the joy is to take the breakfast tray into the garden. The garden is delightful with lots of colourful flowers, shrubs and trees. We chose the hotel for the garden pictures and we were not disappointed. The pool is not large and not deep but ideal for a dip and a little swim to cool off. Plenty of chairs/beds round the pool. Only two large umbrellas but also shade from the trees around the pool. The hotel provides a pool towel for you. The staff are charming (Roula and Angela). Always a smile. A short walk to a couple of good tavernas. Also a short walk to the seafront where you can walk along to the centre of Lygia. Along the way you will find some very good tavernas on the waterside - perfect for an evening meal. And not frightfully expensive. There is plenty of parking for those with hire cars but we use buses and the bus stop is very close to the hotel. Lefkada is only about 10 minutes by bus, Nidri maybe 15/20 minutes. Overall our stay was great and we'd thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quiet, relaxed holiday. Thank you to all at Avra Hotel.

We booked this place due to the impecable ratings and reviews that they had on ***********. It was the 4th stay out of our 3 week tour of the Ionian islands. We booked all of our stays at an average price of 100 Euros per night in mid august. All of the places (6 in total) were superb and i reviwed them accordingly. This place was different for the reasons i will state below: First night there there was a mouse or a rat eating trought something just above our heads, above the ceiling but we were quite tired from so we managed to sleep, then in the morning we planned on going early to the beach. The key was turning loose inside the keyknow and we couldnt close the door so we couldnt leave. There was nobody there to assist us until later in the day when we got a replacement key and they said they would solve the mouse/rat issue. We were expecting to be moved to a new room, but no, we spent 3 nights with rodent noises just above our heads. The morning that we left, right after we departed i noticed that the property cancelled our stay on *********** and wrote that it was by mistake, although my hunch is that this is due to preventing me on writting a review, which now i cannot do. The room was not cleaned at all, nor was the trash taken out during our stay, and the facilities were absolute basic. The value of the room would have been at max half what they charged us. The only positive side would be the outdoor swimming pool, but it was usually crowded and very noisy so we couldnt enjoy it. We left feeling taken advantage of so please stay away if you want to enjoy your holiday. Remus
