Loved it. Great room with a nice rustic ambience and a spectacular view of the peninsula from the hilltop hotel. The complimentary Greek breakfast was delicious. The staff who received us did not speak good English but she made all the effort to make our stay a comfy one. It was so sweet of her using actions to explain us the local attractions. The owner lady was also very friendly and gave us some helpful suggestions for the rest of our Greek trip. However, the parking space was limited and expect hairpin roads to get there.

This hotel is a hidden gem. The location is goegeous, the rooms are splendid and original, the views are terrific, the personal nice and helpful, the owner is charming, and goes the extra mile to make your stay special and her breakfast are wonderful. Highly recommended!

How long does it take to boil the kettle and give a tea bag? In this place you need to wait until all guests are served their cofee to drink your tea. And it may come after you finish your food, just because the owner prefers it so. For a breakfast on a Sunday morning I waited more than 15 mins to be served a cup of tea - I even went to the bar to take it myself- but I was refused. When the lady finally brought the tea and I complained, by saying tea does not take long to prepare, her response to me was to shout! SO WHAT she said, 2 times! I would like to think that she is lost in translation, but no, because she spoke perfect English. The staff is kind and very hospitable. I can't say the same for the owners. It is unfortunate not be able to show kindess and hospitality that is expected from the business of hospitality. More, she did not apologize later, even when she had the chance. So if you go to Karamarlis, beware that you may face some attitude problems. It is a pity because the satff is very kind and friendly.

We had great moments in this unique place. The breathtaking panoramic view was terrific! Room had many features inside like the soundproofed windows, a/c, minibar, refrigerator, TV and the room service was great! Breakfast was rich with many options on the morning buffet. Strongly recommended.

An outstanding place to stay, with an excellent location! The staff was friendly, making us feel at home. I enjoyed the spectacular view and our coffee time at the lounge café. Our room was well-prepared for the season and fully equipped, the bathroom was quite spacious, the children had enough room to run and play around, the breakfast was homemade and appealing. Overall, I couldn't be happier with our experience at the establishment. We had a great time, I will surely revisit the place, and I recommend it!

We arrived at the hotel in the evening after being lost on the way from Volos to Makrinitsa and entered by mistakes on the very narrow streets of Stagiates.
To find parking places in high season in Makrinitsa is almost impossible but fortunately the hotel has 3-4 places (if you are very good in maneuvering the car).
The views from the terraces of the Archontika Karamarlis Boutique Hotel are amazing by day and by night. The architecture of the hotel is also very unexpected for someone not familiar with the Greek mountain old houses architecture. Actually the hotel has (at least( four floors disposed on different terraces so if you stay on the 3rd or 4th floor you will have to climb a lot of exterior narrow stone stairs. Advice: If you stay only 1-2 nights try to leave the heavy and bulky luggage in your car.
The interior design of the rooms make you thing that you are in the Addams Family castle in an amusing way.
Most of the rooms are small, some of them with an incredible view towards Volos town and the sea.
Amazing was also the fact that continuing to climb the outside stairs you arrive suddenly in the main paved street leading to the village central square.
The breakfast was only very good, with traditional bio eggs and homemade sweets and confiture.
We stay only one night but we promised ourselves that we will come back for sure in Makrinitsa and Pelion region.

This establishment is built on two separate buildings on the steep mountainside. If you stay at the lower one, you will suffer a 200m "climb" on the road in order to go wherever you intend to. Tiresome! We had to take the car each time, but then we had to struggle for a parking space.
Other than that, the view is spectacular and the main establishment is pretty fair.
