Archontiko Xantha in Makrinitsa

1st of all, this location is at the top of Makrinitsa and you'll need a good driver to climb the slopes to it (very technical, with hairpins)
Other than that, the location is breathtaking, with a view on Volos and surrounding hills. The house is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms were cleaned daily.
The owners were very friendly, and we were chatting with them in English in the morning and Evening. At their recommendation we also learned that we can have food delivery, which helped a lot in the first night we arrived, and in the following morning. The owner also went himself to get us pies in one of the mornings, and when we had issues with one of the cars, he offered to use his contacts in the area to help us.
You can also go on foot to Makrinitsa, but the journey back will be a bit more difficult (or helpful if you want to burn calories 😅)
Definitely recommending this place, and I hope to come back to it one day.

The most amazing, cozy, warm, and beautiful place to stay in the whole area. If you want the best view, there is nothing better! The room is spotless, big, and comfy, and even has a fireplace and heavenly views right from the window.

Marianthi and Gavril are such welcoming and kind people, ready to help with anything you need! I will definitely visit again!

(P.S. Don't be afraid of the steep road; it's short and totally worth the effort. If you don't feel comfortable, just stay in the parking lot, and the owners will pick you up; it's only two minutes to the top.)

A wonderful place with a magnificent view of the mountains, the sea and Volos. The hotel is located in the highest part of Makrinitsa. Right in front of it begins the eco-path from which you can go down to the center of the village, but in places it is quite steep and returning on foot would be it was quite difficult. So definitely the only way to get around is by car. But otherwise the hotel is very charming with a nice atmosphere of the bygone era. Our double room was comfortable and very clean. We had a lovely little balcony with a view of the whole gulf of Volos. The owner Akis is very kind and responsive. Great place.

Brilliant stone built house with panoramic views of Pagasiticos gulf. Suggest you take care with the directions as there are many 'archontiko' in this village. Google maps will get you there but make sure your spelling is accurate.

Arhontiko Xantha has probably the best view on Makrinitsa village! Those who like drinking their morning coffee on the top of a mountain while enjoying the view of the sea will love it! The room was very clean and had all the necessary requirements for a comfortable and enjoyable accommodation! The owners were extremely friendly and always willing to help you with anything you could probably need, also they gave us some great advices on where to go in order to get the most out of the villages as far as long walks, great sight and good food is considered! We will for sure visit this place again!
