The hotel is located just 5-10 minutes walk above the lovely village of Portaria. From most of the rooms you have a splendid view over the bay and city of Volos which can be accessed only by car in about 30 minutes along a windy but scenic road. The hotel is divided into several houses with no central hallway. Therefore you have to walk along the parking site in front of the hotel in order to access the wellness area. Swimming pool and fitness room cost an extra charge of 15,- EUR per day and sauna another 10,- EUR per person on top. Therefore we never saw people using it and this seems to be intended. We had a spacious junior suite with our own fire place. But when we lit the fire, the whole room was full of smoke despite a closed glas fire door. It seemed that others had the same problem since the room smelled already smoky on the day of our arrival. The personnel at the reception seems not be prepared for foreigners even though they spoke English quite reasonably. Different people were not very helpful and we always had the impression that they were glad when we did not bother them with questions. One highlight was the breakfast with a wide variety of fruit, bread, cake, cereals, cheese, omelette, sausages, fresh pressed orange juice, mountain tea etc.

Very nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff and convenient rooms. Nice outdoor pool and space for kids to play. There is a balcony with a beautiful view in the dining hall, we enjoyed our breakfasts there. Located not far from the village center.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel in what appeared to the off season as it was very quiet. The hotel was clean and well maintained. Staff were kind and helpful durning all interactions. There was plenty of options at breakfast and service was great. The on site parking was a welcome change from other hotels in the area. Overall it was a great hotel and I would recommend staying there.

I reserved a room on line base on the pictures that I saw. When we arrived at the hotel, we got a totally different room. The room was horrible, stuffy, filled with ants. We had no choice but to upgrade with (of course) an extra charge. The upgraded room was just like the one before, and again we had to pay another extra fee in order to move to a basic room. This was a perfect way to get more money out of us. After a long day all we wanted is a hot, nice shower. However, the water was freezing cold. The unfriendly manager had no solution except a bad excuse. Waste of money. What you see is not what you get!

Spent 7 days here. Was a good stay with some shortcomings. First was the pool, open relatively late (11 am) and available to outsiders which made it very noisy during the weekend. Second was the gym, open for some reason after 12 pm, not cleaned (at least for the 7 days I was there), half the machines are broken and closed on Sunday which the receptionist didn't tell us about.
On the other hand the breakfast was exceptional, lots of different fruit, pastry and classics. Staff was super helpful and nice. The room was very nice, the area was super cozy.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Property was gorgeous and clean. Had multiple options for breakfast. Had a beautiful dining area and an in-house bar. Air conditioner worked very well, and the rooms were quite spacious. Area was very nice as there was much to see and do within walking distance. Would recommend and go again!

Wonderful hotel in Beautiful and cozy Portaria. Nice space in the rooms very good breakfast. Nice and clean pool. Very polite and helpful staff. In The village portaria wich is a walk of 7 min a lots of restaurantas... Can really recommend.

Perfect location 3day break
Great swimming pool however 11:00 am opening was a half day gone. Staff were attentive in the hotel. Dining room was lovely so was dinner. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh
Downfall of the property was no tea and coffee facilities. Insect screens.

The hotel picture is not revealing the winding road of 8 KM to reach it from Volos. Nevertheless, we managed to go up the hill and the hotel met all expectations. The rooms are clean and of large size. The bathrooms are nice and had all the amenities. We enjoyed sitting in the dinning room balcony with wonderful view of the Volos area. It is a pity we could not use the swimming pool and spa as we stayed only the night. Breakfast was good and I liked preparing my own Greek coffee.
