Dolphin Hotel in Skopelos Town

The hotel is very well situated, being just a 3 minute walk from the ferry terminal, bus stop and taxi rank and only 5 minutes from the seafront promenade with all the bars and tavernas. So it's a great place to stay if you want a really convenient location. The staff in the hotel are all very friendly and very kind and did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. The hotel is built around gardens and a swimming pool area. The gardens and pool are are very pretty. There are a lot of levels to the hotel and this means that there are a lot of steps, making it difficult for disabled guests, especially as some of the steps have no handrails. Our room was very basic but it was spacious and clean and had a lovely large balcony. The bathroom however was very outdated and needed a complete refurbishment - some areas were grubby and the taps were very corroded. The hot water was a bit intermittent and took a long time to come through. The breakfast was good and had a nice choice. The dining room is light and bright, as was the main reception area of the hotel. We didn't know if there were any other guests staying - we certainly didn't see or hear anybody - not even at breakfast - and we did feel a bit like it was a ghost hotel, but it was very late in the season. If you want luxury and a really modern hotel then this wouldn't be the place for you but for us (we only use budget hotels so we can afford more holidays) it was perfectly fine for a few nights stay .
