Akureyri Backpackers

Akureyri, Hafnarstraeti 98, 600 Akyureyri, Severo-vostok Islandii, Islandiya (in the centre) 🧭

It’s my 50th Birthday and I’m travelling alone….the staff made me feel so welcome and even gave me cake 🥰🥰🥰

I struggled with the door lock mechanism my entire stay. The staff were very helpful, but you could tell this was a constant source of frustration. The room itself was fine. The linen on the bed was super itchy. The towel was nice and thick and soft. I did not use the shower or laundry and I left before breakfast. It was conveniently located and the restaurant was good. I enjoyed the happy hour.

This was such a cosy restaurant/ bar right in the centre of town that had such a friendly atmosphere. We had the reindeer burger - which was absolutely enormous - and the chicken breast as our dinners just before the kitchen closed at 8. The food was very reasonably priced and the portions were so generous that we even got a box for leftovers. We didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms but the...

A lovely place to grab a drink and something to eat. Fab atmosphere and decor. Staff were spot on, polite and helpful. Food was lovely, loved the chicken Naan 😋 A good selection of drinks available. Locals were friendly and humerus. Definitely worth popping in, even if only a watering stop.

Had an amazing time at Akureyri Backpackers Pub! The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, and full of character — a perfect spot to meet fellow travelers. Drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff are welcoming and attentive. Great music, fun vibes, and a cozy interior make it an ideal place to unwind after exploring Akureyri. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a laid-back, enjoyable pub experience

5* service and 5* food. Only ate at the restaurant tonight, so can’t comment on rooms. 👍 Bearnaise burger was excellent, perfect Rich and creamy sauce, and the Guinness is great too. Prices affordable. Great friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for food and drinks. Will hopefully be back again soon. 👍👍

G19 Boutique Apartments

Akureyri, 19 Gránufélagsgata (in the centre) 🧭

This apartment was perfectly located. Right near the heart of Akureyri. We stayed in the basement which is quite compact but was cosy, warm and had everything needed for a short stay. Well equipped kitchen and amenities. Hot shower. Comfy beds and enough room for a family of four to stay. Loved it.

I felt compelled to write a review after seeing so many negative reviews about this place. My family of 5 and I stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. It was fantastic. I prefer contactless check in and the process was smooth and all necessary information was communicated effectively. The furniture was nice and the apartment was cute and cozy. There is a washer and dryer along with anything you might need...

North Mountain View Suites

Akureyri, Leifsstadir 2, 605 Eyjafjardarsveit, Severo-vostok Islandii, Islandiya (5 km from centre) 🧭

This was an amazing property! Everything about the room was very good. The hot tub made it extra special. We hope to visit Iceland again and see the contrast in Summer and would definitely stay here again!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! It had a private hot tub as advertised which was wonderful. We saw the Northern lights every night we were here. No tours needed, just look out your window. It was appointed with a kitchen which we used on several occasions to get a break from the food prices lol. Overall a 10 star from me.

Just a nice property with high-end finishes. I would stay again with no question. Location was also perfect, close to the city but far enough away to not have light pollution interferring with northern lights which we got to see!

Such a nice property with high-end finishes. I would stay again with no question!! Location was also perfect, close to the city but far enough away to not have light pollution interferring with northern lights which we got to see! I believe the larger cabins are on lower row and the smaller ones (ie delux king which we stayed at) are on the upper row. The location on upper row didn't bother me and...

This was our favorite place that we stayed in Iceland. Private hot tub overlooking a beautiful vista. Very comfortable and modern. It was compact, but very nicely appointed. The northern lights alluded us, but this would be a great place to see them. Less than a ten minute easy drive into town.

One of the best properties we stayed at in Iceland. Well stocked with everything you need! Clean and spacious. Communication was easy with the staff. Only thing missing was the Aurora Borealis- those darn clouds Melissa Basra
