We had a nice view from the hotel. Breakfast is included, clean rooms, and really good service.

This hotel is a combination of hostel type rooms and full hotel rooms. Hotel rooms have bathrooms. Hostel rooms share bathrooms and showers. Shared bathrooms and showers are all private units in a common area. You shower in private. Rooms and bathrooms are all very clean. Breakfast buffet has wide variety of bread, meat, cereals and fresh fruits. Right next to Botanical garden and hospital

A good use of space in the summer season. These are dorm rooms during the school year and everything was very clean. Close to main town. Breakfast spread was great in the morning. Offers to do your laundry for a very inexpensive price. Wifi worked well, no complaints. Very large rooms.

When I booked this hotel, I read not very good things for it and I was afraid. But in reality everything was good! The romm was clean, spacious, elegant, with sea- view. The staf was original, and if you wanted something they did it. The only strange thing is that the room is without tv.

Very large and crowded. It seems that the rooms serve as students housing some time during the year - so the inner furniture setup is a bit strange for a hotel. There is no soap or shampoo in the rooms.

The room was rather small, and the breakfast selection was limited, but the location was excellent, making it easy to reach various parts of the town. The gym had many facilities, but it was mostly empty, so you could practically have the gym to yourself.

The room was spacious and well-equipped, with the heated towel rack being particularly noteworthy. It snowed on the day we checked in, and our clothes were completely soaked—the heated towel rack was very helpful for drying smaller items. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, which suited our tastes perfectly. This hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended

There will be loud music in the rooms near the road before 11 o'clock. There are no other disadvantages.

Staff & location were wonderful, breakfast was good. Room across the street was subpar with dirty carpet, mildew smelling bathroom & super small. My husband previously stayed in the main bldg & it was nice. Would only stay here again if I had a room in the main bldg. If I had to stay in a room across the street again, I would run away. Don’t accept a room across the street.

This hotel was very beautiful. Its location in the Centre of Akureyri. The staffs was friendly and helpful. The room was small but it is enough for 2 of us. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast has many choice. Will comeback again .

We were lucky enough to check in that morning and get an upgraded room, which was a fantastic experience! The location is very good, in the center of Akureyri town, convenient for Citywalk. The hotel is large, the rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is included, and there are plenty of parking spaces. It is highly recommended!

When we visited on our honeymoon, they even gave us a glass of champagne! The rooms were clean and great! The reception building and the accommodation were in separate buildings.

There are many restaurants near the hotel. The hotel I booked comes with breakfast, but even if I stay alone, I still have to pay for breakfast for two people. The bathroom floor is warm, and it dries quickly when it gets wet, and you won't feel cold even if you walk around barefoot.

If you are visiting Akureyri or Eyjafjörður, Hafdals is the place to be. grate location, good rooms, fantastic view and personal service. Between Akureyri, Godafoss and Mývatn.

Perfect view, good breakfast,nice owner .. 😉😍 only problem: if you stay more than 1 night your bed will not be made up for the next night… happened in both our rooms so no mistake, if its a guest house it would be ok, but in a hotel …. Else it would be 5 stars

Modern and clean, very nice host

Absolutely fantastic place to stay when you're in the north. Perfect location, the owner/manager has great travel tips ans we managed to see aurora on our first night thanks to his advice. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are spacious! Breakfast is 10 out of 10 Highly recommended

It’s a small room with full of small kitchen. We can cook a small plate in the room. The bathroom is small but not bad for a price and location.

Excellent location, room and amenities. The service was also good.

The only flaw is the lack of a kitchen, everything is brand new.

The sofa bed is not very comfortable to sleep on, but the other room facilities are good and you can cook.

Hotel is about 5mins with car from city center. It smells nice here all the time, there is a common dining room, jacuzzi and is pretty calm. Perfect if u want to have some peace. Big parking for cars.

Pretty new hotel a short drive from Akureyri city. Rooms are very spacious and clean. There's a common kitchen, and laundry room. Hotel will only start to serve breakfast from 1 June. So during our stay, there's no meal served. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.

This clean and tidy, newly renovated hotel is quite empty during the summer season. Since it’s a self-service hotel, there’s no service. However, there’s a 24/7 shared dining hall equipped with some utensils, cutlery, a fridge, and a microwave. There’s also a ski locker and a laundry machine and tumble dryer (both 24/7 and self-service), which are also free. One of our favourite hotels in Iceland.

Parking is convenient and clean. The room is relatively warm and easy to check in. The hotel will inform you of the password in advance, so you don't have to worry about not being able to find the front desk and not being able to check in even if you arrive late.

Hotel is located on a mountain and you get a great view of akureryi city and the mountain view. Conveniently located with nearby supermarkets and restaurants.

The check-in code was given in advance, which was very convenient. Check-in was no problem. The room was clean. There was a snowy mountain outside. It was said to be a ski hotel.

One of the best hotels we stayed in Iceland! The room to the balcony was exceptional. The hot tub overlooking the city was amazing! Definitely recommend staying here! Amenities were updated in short don’t think twice about booking here!!

The rooms were well-appointed, but not very clean. Shower stall was not clean at all- dirt in the corners, filthy soap holders. The hot water smells like death in that town anyway, but for Christ sake - clean after the guests! The cleaner crews are hired contractors, they kick the guests out the minute the clock strikes checkout time. My friends were still loading the car and the cleaners already...

The room was fine but we were looking forward to the hot tub after a long day. One hot tub was murky and the second wasn’t filled all the way. Stairs were slippery and I fell resulting in significant bruising

We arrived during a snowstorm, so anything after the drive looked appealing! I'm sure this little guesthouse once was a shining gem in its glory, but as was noted by others in their reviews, it can use a good face lift on the outside. We were in the lower level where the door opened out to where we parked our SUV. THIS WAS A MAJOR PLUS since we were living from point to point on the Ring Road tour...

A beautiful apartment smack in the middle of Akureyri. 4 minute walk to the town center and restaurants. Simple street parking near the house. Easy check-in with a key code. The interior has nice design elements and furniture and it feels like a real home. Will stay again!

This place was a little more complicated for our stay. There's no reception on-site, so check-in was really complicated - so complicated, that I had to turn on my phone to call them about how we get inside. I've spent 3 nights at Akurinn and always so pleased. It is really close to downtown Akureyri and in a walking distance from so many sights. 😊 Some rooms have private bathrooms but some are shared. The most beautiful guesthouse! Our room (204) was spacious and decorated beautifully with a gorgeous headboard, comfy beds, a huge wardrobe, a velvet couch and chair, and table. Overall it was ok. We stayed at the fourth floor, which was quiet, but the showers were in the basement and one had to go thru the bar at the ground floor to get there. The reception was at the bar counter and it was noisy and hard to understand house rules. Lastly the receptionist wasn’t too interested or inclined to provide additional details.

There were foundation marks on the pillow cases in the room. The floor of the public bathroom was dirty and it was on the first floor. To go to the bathroom to take a shower, you had to walk through the bar on the first floor, which was very inconvenient. The toilet is generally hygienic. I live on the second floor. It's a stylish hostel with a bar restaurant attached, but in reality the food and drink business seems to be more active. Looking at the reviews, it seems the management has changed since before, and the kitchen for guests that was previously advertised is no longer there, and there is only a microwave and what appears to be a kettle. Needed to leave shoes at entrance of building and not entrance of apartment... quite strange and not easy if you carry family luggage alone from parking on the second floor if price is ok, the interior will not let you down. I loved staying here a couple of nights to dodge some Icelandic weather. The owner Gunnar was hilarious (very dry sense of humour) really helpful and friendly, as is his daughter Isabella (apologies for any misspelling). Great service and great room. The owner was awesome! The room was very cute and modern. The shared kitchen and restroom was nice and had everything we needed. The owner helped us get our car out of the snow after the snowstorm. He’s a hero!..haha definitely one of the better places we stayed at this Iceland trip. I will be back.

We had the apartment for 8 pax on the top floor - tiring climb with luggage. There was only one bathroom in the apartment but this seemed to be the norm in Iceland. Equipped kitchen and washing machine in the apartment which were great. Not all the radiators in the apartment worked though. Good location with easy access to shops and eateries.

The rooms are ok, neat and clean. The problem arose with the booking due to the opening of the door and the room. They didn't send the codes on time. So check the image and notifications beforehand. Everything else is ok, they have a nice kitchen that is nicely equipped. The center is close.

Friendly staff and modern bedrooms with bath. The breakfast is left on the fridge in a box, which means you can take it with you either if you’re in a hurry in the morning or if you don’t want to eat all of it because it’s a big portion.

My boyfriend and I booked this place last minute. Price and location were both good. We were a little concerned when we saw multiple negative reviews. However, our stay was wonderful! The room was clean, some noise from other rooms were noted but nothing after around 2100. We had a direct view into the city center which was great for people watching. Would recommend this place for anyone looking in...

The room was beautiful and cozy. We ended up in a bad situation and the owners let me stay in a room after we had already checked out until the situation was over. They did their best to help even though they didn't have to. They were really kind and helpful. The location was also a big plus and they watch out for your security.
