If you drive, location is central. Rooms on the small side. Good view from hotel room. Breakfast is alright, limited selection
Spacious room. Breakfast was nice. Just next to a public swimming pool
C the view from the room , the my using locittance shampoo , but the design not so good as u need to open a bit ur window. The toilet and bathroom is open concept , so suitable for couple , not so suitable for friend
Great location and walking distance into town. Breakfast offered a nice selection to choose from and can meet all diet preferences.
The room was quite small and the bathroom layout questionable. Other than that the Hotel was fine
Very good accomodation with 2 boys age 2 and 7. The bunk bed for them was a huge success

Very nice Hotel. Coffee and hot chocolate for free all day. Perfect view in the fjord during breakfast. When we've been there in september we had incredible Northern lights, you can see them from the hotel terrace 8-)
Very kind staff, great room, hot tub, clean room, good breakfast. Nothing bad to say about this hotel. We were very happy with our visit
Fantastic location with a breathtaking view. Manager (owner?) was very charismatic and the soul of the hotel. Soft beds and an amazing breakfast.

Hotel Norduland in Akuyreri was my home away from home for 3 nights. I had originally booked for one night but due to road closure as a result of flooding from the glaciers, I booked additional nights as I needed them to see if the roads would be fixed so I could continue my road trip East on the Ring Road. John and Judy (as well as another staff who worked that weekend) were wonderful. They helped...
The hotel is nicely located, you can easily explore the town on foot. The staff are more than polite and helpful. The room itself was clean and averagely furnished. The breakfast was okay, but not more (we saw a lot more inviting buffets all over Iceland with fresh fruit ecc.). Overall: you can definitely book this hotel if you wish to stay close to the town center or harbour.
I stayed here for one night as part of an organized tour. The room was clean, the Wi-Fi was strong, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Akureyri, within walking distance of major attractions and eateries in town. I enjoyed the breakfast, which included an English breakfast in addition to the usual continental options provided by most hotels. Overall, everything...
Feels I didn't stay in same property as some reviews Location great We were on ground floor, net curtains prevented people outside seeing in .... if its an issue ask to move up a floor ... then complain about no lift No one came & stood in our room .... I'd imagine each door had a different code Reception girl was excellent on check in & later when we caught her for a chat Breakfast was standard fayre...
Well……we are continuing our Rim Road road trip. Once again, this hotel was selected by our tour company so we don’t know the cost. Everything is simple and plain. Breakfast was just a continental breakfast with no hot items. The best part of our stay was room 15. It was an oversized corner room that could have slept 3. We definitely utilized the extra space. Nice location too.
The room was in a building across the street from the hotel. It was old, the window sill was mouldy and creaky. The bathroom was also tiny. Breakfast was ok, but limited in options. Good location for exploring the north of Iceland.

I felt compelled to write a review after seeing so many negative reviews about this place. My family of 5 and I stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. It was fantastic. I prefer contactless check in and the process was smooth and all necessary information was communicated effectively. The furniture was nice and the apartment was cute and cozy. There is a washer and dryer along with anything you might need...

It's just so-so, not cost-effective!
The room is clean and tidy, with scenic spots outside the window
The hotel does not have a parking lot and you need to find a public parking space yourself.
The room is a bit small and the heating is not enough
The hotel location is really amazing, just next to the church. Classic hotel to experience!
The hotel room is really a bit small, with three small beds. I almost fell off when I rolled over at night. I could only open one suitcase🧳, and I couldn't move when I opened the second one. The breakfast was simple eggs, beans, bacon🥓, juice, and bread. ,fruit. Hygienic and clean, the service desk is very friendly. The location is good. You can see the church when you go out. There are supermarkets...

What a wonderful hotel. It's family run, and the proprietor Hildur is amazing! It has homely and cozy properties, much like a boutique guesthouse despite it's size. Great breakfast, bar at the lobby with some extremely friendly staff, a selection of hot tubs outside in the forest, and a nice lounge. I didn't want to leave at all, but rather just move in permanently!

It couldn't be a better place to chase the Northern lights. The house was perfect tiny and beautiful, also cozy and really comfortable. We didn't have any problem to locate the house and the host was really great with us. The view of the house is stunning, you could wake up and see the mountains. The house supply is really complete. There is enough equipment in the kitchen. There is a good coffee machine...
Saw the aurora right above us even though there was light pollution from across the street! House was comfortable and very convenient with a kitchenette. Space to sleep was comfortable! One can go whale watching nearby in summer time too, apparently!
The owner is amazingly patients and super nice.made us feel welcome and comfortable eventhough we had some requests and many questions and even had to change dates. Highly recommended!!!
Magic place! We love it so much! So cozy ,pretty, and amazing view!
Gorgeous view, cute stylish little house. The hosts Valtyr and his wife were very nice and give us fantastic info about the area and day trip suggestions in a brochure. I would definitely go back to that place.

We had a nice view from the hotel. Breakfast is included, clean rooms, and really good service.
This hotel is a combination of hostel type rooms and full hotel rooms. Hotel rooms have bathrooms. Hostel rooms share bathrooms and showers. Shared bathrooms and showers are all private units in a common area. You shower in private. Rooms and bathrooms are all very clean. Breakfast buffet has wide variety of bread, meat, cereals and fresh fruits. Right next to Botanical garden and hospital
A good use of space in the summer season. These are dorm rooms during the school year and everything was very clean. Close to main town. Breakfast spread was great in the morning. Offers to do your laundry for a very inexpensive price. Wifi worked well, no complaints. Very large rooms.
When I booked this hotel, I read not very good things for it and I was afraid. But in reality everything was good! The romm was clean, spacious, elegant, with sea- view. The staf was original, and if you wanted something they did it. The only strange thing is that the room is without tv.
Very large and crowded. It seems that the rooms serve as students housing some time during the year - so the inner furniture setup is a bit strange for a hotel. There is no soap or shampoo in the rooms.

fantastic and welcoming staff with great facilities, large rooms, clean premises and brilliant breakfast
If you are visiting Akureyri or Eyjafjörður, Hafdals is the place to be. grate location, good rooms, fantastic view and personal service. Between Akureyri, Godafoss and Mývatn.
Perfect view, good breakfast, nice owner .. 😉😍 only problem: if you stay more than 1 night your bed will not be made up for the next night… happened in both our rooms so no mistake, if its a guest house it would be ok, but in a hotel …. Else it would be 5 stars
Fantastic hotel.extremely clean. Beautiful view from the room terrace. Very tasty breakfast. Definitely recommending it.
Modern and clean, very nice host
Absolutely fantastic place to stay when you're in the north. Perfect location, the owner/manager has great travel tips ans we managed to see aurora on our first night thanks to his advice. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are spacious! Breakfast is 10 out of 10 Highly recommended

Although the room had an unusual layout, it had everything we needed. Very comfortable beds.
Outstanding staff: we booked the hotel for a wrong date by accident , they found us upgraded room instead without any extra charge and made our stay very special. Room was small but very well thought through to every detail: cosy and comfy. Hotel is located 2 min away from center of the city and offer free bikes as well. Great concept and very client oriented family business! Well done
Good location There is no elevator The rooms are very small, don't have enough space for the luggages. Expensive breakfast
This hotel was all self checking and self service. It's in a great location though there's no main desk to talk if you need any assistance.
I already thought I was in heaven with their breakfast before the waitress asked if she could make me a fresh waffle. Also try the Icelandic “Skyr” dairy product. Cant believe it is almost fat free.
Loved this boutique hotel! The staff were beyond amazing, and I enjoyed every chat that I had with them during our stay. The beds were so comfortable and you can't beat the view. Very good breakfast and lovely atmosphere. Very close to downtown, which made sightseeing and shopping a breeze. %100 would recommend to everyone.

Hotel is in the center of the city with plenty of restaurants around. The stay was overall good. They also have a kitchen to cook your own food. Breakfast was nice!
Everything about this Hotel and staff is 10+. The beds, bathroom, tv and shower is all made of first class. The hotel is peaceful and silent and breakfast is fantastic.
The location was amazing - right on the main downtown street with loads to do and a park across the street from the hotel, plus food stands and ice cream. It was tough to check in, though. We weren't aware, but it turns out you have to go into a hotel next door and find someone and then they take you through a restaurant to a back elevator to your room. It wasn't well explained and caused a lot of...

This was by far our absolute favourite accommodation during our trip around Ring Road. They greeted us by name when we arrived and gave us a full tour. Our favorite stay so far in Iceland! Comfortable beds, and very clean shared restrooms. Make sure to take advantage of the view from the hot tub.
The horse riding tour was gorgeous and the horses were really sweet and the staff very professional. We had some good tea and coffee afterwards (included) to warm up and that was the perfect ending to our experience. This place is super close to the center of Akureyri and also its cruise port!
This place is AMAZING! Definitely a great spot to visit! We did an hour horseback ride. Our guide was wonderful to chat with and the horses were so sweet! The views were amazing too-beach and mountains. Following the ride we got to take a dip in the hot tub and then had coffee and delish brownies. Everyone was very friendly and the place is super clean and cute.
I have traveled around the world and stayed in many different places, but this one is simply the best. Sweet and attentive host, the house is beautiful, full of details to be comfortable and have an incredible experience. The views are wonderful and when I think of the bath I had in the hot tub I just get a huge smile in my face. Breakfast was superb. I am already dreaming of returning to this guesthouse...
Google maps does NOT know where this place is, doesn't even know the road. So you'll end up at the empty place across the street. Fear not: Skjaldarvik is just across the road, closer to the bay, with the horses. Just back up the road a bit, and you'll see the sign. Clean, welcoming, beautiful location, quiet, basically everything you want. They have a northern lights sign up sheet at the front desk...
