The room was rather small, and the breakfast selection was limited, but the location was excellent, making it easy to reach various parts of the town. The gym had many facilities, but it was mostly empty, so you could practically have the gym to yourself.

The room was spacious and well-equipped, with the heated towel rack being particularly noteworthy. It snowed on the day we checked in, and our clothes were completely soaked—the heated towel rack was very helpful for drying smaller items. The breakfast was a buffet with a wide variety of options, which suited our tastes perfectly. This hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended

This was an amazing property! Everything about the room was very good. The hot tub made it extra special. We hope to visit Iceland again and see the contrast in Summer and would definitely stay here again!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! It had a private hot tub as advertised which was wonderful. We saw the Northern lights every night we were here. No tours needed, just look out your window. It was appointed with a kitchen which we used on several occasions to get a break from the food prices lol. Overall a 10 star from me.

This was our favorite place that we stayed in Iceland. Private hot tub overlooking a beautiful vista. Very comfortable and modern. It was compact, but very nicely appointed. The northern lights alluded us, but this would be a great place to see them. Less than a ten minute easy drive into town.

One of the best properties we stayed at in Iceland. Well stocked with everything you need! Clean and spacious. Communication was easy with the staff. Only thing missing was the Aurora Borealis- those darn clouds Melissa Basra

I was a bit worried initially from some of the bad reviews but actually pleasantly surprised. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Yes it’s a university building some time of the year but actually really good. Highly recommend. Private en-suite bathroom too.

The hotel in Iceland was not too bad, but for the price, I expected more in terms of equipment and services. The room was quite basic, and amenities were limited. However, the location is excellent and very convenient for exploring the area. Overall, it’s okay for a short stay, but there’s room for improvement.

Fun with the corridor names, I was in Jotunheim myself, which was a bit worrying, but I had my Thor's hammer with me so I was safe. 😁 Joking aside, nice hotel for me, good distance to everything, good service and nice staff.

This hotel ceases to be a student residence during the summer. The rooms are clearly for student use. There is an elevator available upon request and only for people with reduced mobility. The breakfast buffet is acceptable. There is a proper restaurant on the other side.

Our double room was spacious and clean. It had a water kettle and complimenary tea in the room. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices: best buffet we had in 8 hotels in Iceland. We could park in front of the hotel (free 16:00 - 10:00). Restaurants in the city center are within walking distance. Due to the location there was traffic noise till night and in walking distance.

A lovely hotel, but improvements in storage would make it excellent. If 2 of you are staying in a double room for more than a couple of days the lack of storage is inconvenient. Breakfast is incredible, along with the service from the staff.

This is a fantastic no-frills option across the fjord from Akureyri. The room was exceptionally clean, and we made good use of the refrigerator and coffee maker. We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views. Check-in time is firm. Owner does all duties (check-in, clean, breakfast, lawn care, etc.) Room was very clean! Serves a cold breakfast. Picked this hotel because of the location just outside of Akureyri. The host was very friendly and always happy to make recommendations. He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave good advice about places to go. The room was very good, with amazing views across the fjord looking towards the airport and town. Building looks a little old but it's comfortable. It's on the other side of the city and view is really pretty. High chances of seeing northern light. Breakfast is included but served only 8-10 which was late for us and they did not provide box lunch

Guesthouse located on the hillside above small harbour. Room had great views over the sea and mountains beyond. A short walk to Eyri the excellent local restaurant. We were diving from Styran dive centre on the unique geothermal chimney close by.

It was a very nice hotel and hotel room. The breakfast was extremely good! The only downfall was there was a lot of construction going on within the hotel and on the street of the hotel.

This is not a hotel as you will expect! No tv in room and by the time you've put 2 suitcases on the floor and rack there is hardly room to move!! One has to climb over your partner to get into bed as there isn't space to walk around your bed!! The restaurant next door is excellent with good food.

Luxury orientation on rooms with early released to public, no tv-excuse 'speak to each other' bold but very risky excuse to not have tv in the room, not even WiFi password....no coffee, no tea..again no explanation. Defo not worth 40k to extend for 3rd night. Especially when there is upgrade suit for 30k with mountain view next door, with elevated service ready to discover. Choices to improve are there...

The room was beautiful and cozy. We ended up in a bad situation and the owners let me stay in a room after we had already checked out until the situation was over. They did their best to help even though they didn't have to. They were really kind and helpful. The location was also a big plus and they watch out for your security.

This apartment was perfectly located. Right near the heart of Akureyri. We stayed in the basement which is quite compact but was cosy, warm and had everything needed for a short stay. I loved staying here a couple of nights to dodge some Icelandic weather. The owner Gunnar was hilarious (very dry sense of humour) really helpful and friendly, as is his daughter Isabella (apologies for any misspelling). Great service and great room. The owner was awesome! The room was very cute and modern. The shared kitchen and restroom was nice and had everything we needed. We had the apartment for 8 pax on the top floor - tiring climb with luggage. There was only one bathroom in the apartment but this seemed to be the norm in Iceland. Equipped kitchen and washing machine in the apartment which were great. Not all the radiators in the apartment worked though. Good location with easy access to shops and eateries.

Great value for this price, everything is VERY clean and tidy, I mean extraordinarily clean, I haven't stayed in such a clean hostel ever before. For Iceland the price they charge is really low price and it's fair, because as a young traveller you don't have that much money and it's nice if you can go without spending a fortune and still have a comfortable bed (yes, you have actual BEDS in this hostel...
