The room was spacious and clean, with excellent hygiene. The view from the window was beautiful, offering sights of the sunrise and numerous small volcanic craters. Check-in and parking were convenient. The front desk even asked if we'd like to be notified about the Northern Lights, which was a very thoughtful touch. That evening, I managed to capture many photos of the aurora. We heard there's a free hot spring, but we weren't aware of it and missed out. Breakfast was plentiful.

The room had a great view and was clean and tidy. The only issue was that the drain was a bit slow. Breakfast was plentiful.

Happy stay here. Spacious room. Great restaurant for dinner. Nice staff. Walkable to Skútustaðagígar.

Room are dirty and we found hairs on bedsheet.. and we got a rooftop view room even we paid more for the lake view room! The staff was very rude and just replied us “ I cannot do anything about it , I’m not the one who post the room to platform”. She promised us to give a feedback to us but then we never heard from her again! We got a room that is mismatch with what we booked and we can’t even get a sincere apology !
After that we placed a complaint to trip.com and wish they could look into it and avoid other customers got our bad experience. But then we got replies saying that the hotel “claimed” they already offered us a bottle of wine! That’s a very serious integrity issue which pissed me off the most. We not even got a reply and she lied that already gave us compensation? That’s ridiculous! This hotel is Highly not recommended！

This hotel did a great job overall! The location is perfect — 5/5, couldn’t ask for better. Cleanliness, service, and facilities all scored 4/5, which means there's still a bit of room for improvement, but nothing major. It’s a solid choice for a family trip — comfortable, convenient, and reliable. A few more thoughtful touches would make it exceptional! 👍

Good when the aurora appear, they will call u and inform to catch the aurora . Early morning just walking distance to the 冰湖！ the breakfast also variety of choice , got self made pancake

Wonderful stay, with great amenities and view from the room where we could see the northern lights. The hotel reception also gave us a wake up call at 2am when the northern lights were visible from the hotel
