Ideally located for trips around the local area. The service from staff was fantastic, they were very knowledgeable and happy to share information about the best things to do. The breakfast offerings was superb. Rooms were basic but clean.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Norourland! The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well presented, making it a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring. The location is easy to access nearby restaurants, supermarket and other places. The room is comfortable with a big window we can see snowing in late Oct 25.

Our double room was spacious and clean. It had a water kettle and complimenary tea in the room. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choices: best buffet we had in 8 hotels in Iceland. We could park in front of the hotel (free 16:00 - 10:00). Restaurants in the city center are within walking distance. Due to the location there was traffic noise till night and in walking distance.

I was a bit worried initially from some of the bad reviews but actually pleasantly surprised. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Yes it’s a university building some time of the year but actually really good. Highly recommend. Private en-suite bathroom too.

The hotel in Iceland was not too bad, but for the price, I expected more in terms of equipment and services. The room was quite basic, and amenities were limited. However, the location is excellent and very convenient for exploring the area. Overall, it’s okay for a short stay, but there’s room for improvement.

Fun with the corridor names, I was in Jotunheim myself, which was a bit worrying, but I had my Thor's hammer with me so I was safe. 😁 Joking aside, nice hotel for me, good distance to everything, good service and nice staff.

This hotel ceases to be a student residence during the summer. The rooms are clearly for student use. There is an elevator available upon request and only for people with reduced mobility. The breakfast buffet is acceptable. There is a proper restaurant on the other side.

The room was rather small, and the breakfast selection was limited, but the location was excellent, making it easy to reach various parts of the town. The gym had many facilities, but it was mostly empty, so you could practically have the gym to yourself.

The room was spacious and well-equipped, with the heated towel rack being particularly noteworthy. It snowed on the day we checked in, and our clothes were completely soaked—the heated towel rack was very helpful for drying smaller items. This is my second time visiting Fosshótel Mývatn and I could not recommend it more. Services, food and drinks are all top notch. The rooms are immaculate. There is an incredible sauna on the third floor that you can access until 10pm and the happy hour deals at the hotel bar are an excellent deal.

The hotel is very nicely located next to Lake Mytvan and can see the sunset and sunrise from the dining room as well as the room. We saw the northern light ftom our room window.Breakfast is good and the dinner at the restaurant was fantastic.Highly recommended, one the the best hotel we stayed in Iceland.

We took a group of high school students to Dalvik and stayed here. This place was awesome! The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for our day trips and the scenery was beautiful. The staff were kind and helpful and prepared great food. I would definitely stay here again!

The guesthouse was tricky to find, but a decent place to spend a day or two.

We stayed in a room that had a shared bathroom. Bathroom and Showers were very clean. Liked the lounge area with tables. Highly recommend.

Our EF group had a marvelous three day stay here at Hotel Dalvik. The food and service was amazing. The staff was very friendly and the meals had a down home feel. We didn’t leave the table needing anymore to eat. It was great to come back from a long day of sight seeing to have a great home cooked meal.

The hotel has a good location and is convenient to reach by car. However, I was quite disappointed with the room assignment: as a regular guest arriving around 3 p.m., I was placed in an accessible room without being asked for my consent or informed in advance. This is not professional, and I believe guests deserve proper communication and the option to choose their room type.

Amazing hotel. The staff really do care you are comfortable and happy. Helped with my dietary issues with no fuss or drama. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, choice of hot or cold breakfast, pastries and cereals. Can not speak highly enough of this hotel.

Beautiful hotel located near Myvatn. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We signed in for a aurora wake up knock and because of that we saw a few aurora. Good breakfast and dinner. We had a lake view room and it was beautiful to wake up with the sunrise and the lake in sight.

Fabulous hotel! All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful space for relaxing in the reception area, by day and by night. Great breakfast and fantastic location! The sea view rooms are a little dated but have beautiful panoramic views across the sea and the mountains whereas the newer rooms are much more modern and spacious - so choose what is most important to you. Poor value for money We arrived for check in and given a very comfortable, clean but basic room. Parking was just outside. Only a minor downside, as you will be aware hotels are not good value for money in Iceland, but all the TVs were being upgraded so the current ones didn’t work. This is a unique property. The full kitchen is available for travelers to use to cook their dinner. If we had known, we would have brought some food to cook. This is not a hotel as you will expect! No tv in room and by the time you've put 2 suitcases on the floor and rack there is hardly room to move!! One has to climb over your partner to get into bed as there isn't space to walk around your bed!! The restaurant next door is excellent with good food.

Luxury orientation on rooms with early released to public, no tv-excuse 'speak to each other' bold but very risky excuse to not have tv in the room, not even WiFi password....no coffee, no tea..again no explanation. I stayed in a twin room with shared facilities and had an amazing stay. The living room was cosy, the kitchen big and the shared bathroom clean. The bedroom was also spacious. Location is perfect, in between many spots of Myvtan. Would totally recommend

The sleeping cabins have everything a tired traveler will need. Spacious and clean washrooms. Practical shared kitchen. Power points outside for those who wants to (slow) charge their cars. Minutes away from food. A perfect resting place for passing traveler.

We had a very pleasant stay here. The check in was at the restaurant, the rooms were actually 2 minutes away by car. There was a fully equipped kitchen in the house, everything was clean. We also saw a reindeer and the northern lights from there.

This was our favorite place that we stayed during our 9 day Iceland trip. It was very unique, the staff was great. The room was clean and nice sized. Guesthouse located on the hillside above small harbour. Room had great views over the sea and mountains beyond. A short walk to Eyri the excellent local restaurant. We were diving from Styran dive centre on the unique geothermal chimney close by.
