Hotels in Vik

This hotel is a fine stop for a one-night stop for travel across the south coast. Because it is a larger hotel, indeed there are tour buses overnighting here, but that didn’t cause any discomfort for us. The room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice to have breakfast included, which you don’t always find in Iceland. The view from the front-facing rooms is beautiful.

I came with school. The staff are super friendly and I would definitely come here again. It was a super awesome stay. In a super awesome location with super awesome people. I love the vibe of this place. Its very unique.

The hotel itself is similar to a Days Inn in America. For the most part it's very basic with few amenities. The beds were very comfortable and the mattresses did look new. Dinner was good with several side options and the salmon was amazing. Breakfast had some great tasting fresh fruit. Breakfast was delicious! If you're too lazy to go into town in the evening, the hotel's paid buffet is also quite good. Both the taste and value for money are excellent! I even saw the Northern Lights when I went down for breakfast in the morning!

Decent place overall. Hotel was located alongside the main road and easily accessible. Check in process was relatively smooth. Room was visibly clean, beds were comfortable and blackout curtains and radiator were effective. Breakfast was slightly disappointing as it was mostly a cold continental one with no hot food options. The appearance of a rainbow in the morning added a nice touch to the stay

Extreme tiny room and bathroom, no view, difficult to move around and even to put the suitcase. Bedding is uncomfortable and bad pillows.

Stayed one night at Hotel Vik on a recent trip to Iceland. The people at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is pretty and clean and a great choice if you are heading out to Vik or the surrounding area. The room was very spacious with huge windows that I loved. Everything was great but would have liked a door on the shower. Wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the lounging areas...

Super cozy hotel, a well-known brand amenity provided. Wifi, kettle, coffee tea are included in the room. Super worthy to have breakfast there wif loads of option Free parking and there’s gas station/Supermarket in the opposite .

The standard rooms are small, and our shower had a curtain, so water ran all over the bathroom. It's fine for one night, but if you're traveling with a group, I recommend staying in the nearby suites at the same hotel. The breakfast is very good; they even have watermelon, and that's in winter.

Overall great room when we needed a place last minute when weather prohibited us from moving forward. Clean, spacious, nice restroom, and great views no matter what side of the hall you are on. Good breakfast, and late checkout at noon.

The hotel was easy to find and had a large, convenient parking lot. The steak at dinner was delicious. Next to the hotel, there's a sweater specialty store with a good selection and reasonable prices, perfect for souvenirs.

Nice hotel on the main route into Vik. Hotel staff were very attentive and set up a child’s bed in the room in advance of arrival. Plenty of parking, self service gas station across the road and several restaurants nearby.

We got one of the suites, very nice. Had a tub and two TVs (one was broken, but hopefully they see this post as I forgot to tell them). The room was HOT, so pack light pajamas and open a window. Breakfast was simple but enjoyable. It was nice that it was located right in town, there are local restaurants, shopping, and grocery options.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Kria. The room albeit a bit small was appointed well enough for us. The staff was lovely and very helpful. One neat thing about the hotel was the onsite game room where they have a pool table, ping pong, air hockey and dart board.

Hrund went out of her way to make us feel welcome and to provide everything we could possibly want for a comfortable stay. She gave us suggestions for places to visit in the area and on the next leg of our ring road trip, told us about the history of the house, and brought us traditional Icelandic food and drink to try. Fantastic overnight stay in Vik. Hrund, the owner, gave us useful tips on what sights to see in the town and surrounding area. The room itself is spacious with a toaster, coffee maker and kettle. Beds were very comfortable and good breakfast in the morning. Parking is free right outside the house. Will gladly stay again if passing through Vik. Thank you :)

We stayed in the hotel portion of the building. Very clean and nice sized rooms. Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. Good breakfast, too. And it's only a short walk from the restaurant downtown.

Room was large, newly renovated it seems. Great bathroom with big shower. Had everything we needed. Only downside was that the room smelled damp. Reception was great and super helpful, both the receptionists we encountered. Breakfast was perfect for our needs, loved the added touch of the waffles, have missed Nordic waffles. Room is simple, clean and comfortable. Just a little small. Location is easy to find and near restaurants and various attractions. Breakfast is simple but save us the trouble of finding food elsewhere as there are not many selections for breakfast. Plenty of parking spots

Nice little place to spend the night at a great spot having said that rooms are quite old and had no amenities. Would definitely go back while driving through the ring road.

Clean motel in beautiful area. Unfortunately the only place you can take advantage of the view is the picnic table in the parking lot. Small window in room with no view of much and the room with all the windows and seating that is advertised is only open for breakfast. Too much money for a bed and a bathroom with poor water pressure.

Cute small hotel. Beds were comfortable and rooms clean. We had a beautiful view of the mountains from our room. Be aware just like many places in Iceland you are required to take off your shoes before entering. Breakfast wasn't until 830 so we never got to try it but it smelled good.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, just a 15-minute drive from the town of Vik, where you’ll find a store and a beautiful beach. There is also a beach close to the property itself, but we didn’t go there. The rooms are warm and cozy, making it a comfortable stay. Great location with awesome view! We had the 3 bedroom apartment which was perfect for our family of 5. Very clean and modern space with fantastic bathroom, kitchen and living space. We also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning.

Surprisingly large sized apartments for you and the family! They were clean, quite large, have a nice dining area and kitchen attached as well. The host left us some homemade jam and waffle batter to use which was a nice surprise! It's located nicely near the wool company, soup kitchen and local bar that also has good food. Cannot recommend this place enough!

This is an absolute jewel! The hosts are friendly and welcome you into their home, which happens to be your apartment. The kitchen is very well stocked (including homemade jams, etc.) and they will provide almost anything you ask. The location is excellent and within walking distance from many of the main attractions and restaurants. We wished we could stay longer.

I’m a year late in writing this review but I was remembering with my wife and had to write it. Gudrun and Emil are the most amazing hosts we have ever encountered. We got caught in a snow storm and they took us in on Christmas Eve (the main evening in Iceland). The host, Gudrun, provides waffle mix for the morning along with homemade butter and jams. It felt like staying with family. We were a close walk to the black sand beach, lava show and different restaurants. The view of the snow covered mountains made a great backdrop for morning coffee.

Friendly host who made us pancake mix and home made jelly and spread. The room has a living room attached which has a full kitchen. We went to the nearby super market and cooked ourselves a nice meal.

Disappointing experience overall. Unfortunately, our stay was far below expectations. The apartment was quite dirty, with noticeable grime and even a clump of hair left in the shower — not what you’d expect from a guest-ready place. Check-in was a mess. The host was absent and had sent someone else to handle our arrival, but that person had none of the necessary information. It felt completely unorganized...

Right in the middle of Vik y Myrdal, in front of meeting point of several Tours. King size beds in each room, shared bathroom, good breakfast, warm and confortable living room to rest after you walked black beaches that are only some 300 meters away. 600 meters from supermarket. Host super friendly and kind, with a Phone Available at all time. The type of place you need while you visit the region.

We stayed in the property for a night. There is no reception,you need to pick up the key from reception and go to your room. We didn’t use the kitchen but it’s a shared one. The vibe is more kind of a hostel. Bathrooms are decent. The view from the bedroom is very nice. The WiFi isn’t that great so make sure you have a stable mobile connection. The property is well connected to the Vik city.

Great little guesthouse with some great amenities! The kitchen in the commons area is fully stocked with tools, spices and even teas/coffee. The house is not walkable to Vik really but assuming you're renting a car it's a good enough location.
