This hotel is a fine stop for a one-night stop for travel across the south coast. Because it is a larger hotel, indeed there are tour buses overnighting here, but that didn’t cause any discomfort for us. The room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice to have breakfast included, which you don’t always find in Iceland. The view from the front-facing rooms is beautiful.

Great location with awesome view! We had the 3 bedroom apartment which was perfect for our family of 5. Very clean and modern space with fantastic bathroom, kitchen and living space. We also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning.

Surprisingly large sized apartments for you and the family! They were clean, quite large, have a nice dining area and kitchen attached as well. The host left us some homemade jam and waffle batter to use which was a nice surprise! It's located nicely near the wool company, soup kitchen and local bar that also has good food. Cannot recommend this place enough!

This is an absolute jewel! The hosts are friendly and welcome you into their home, which happens to be your apartment. The kitchen is very well stocked (including homemade jams, etc.) and they will provide almost anything you ask. The location is excellent and within walking distance from many of the main attractions and restaurants. We wished we could stay longer.

The host, Gudrun, provides waffle mix for the morning along with homemade butter and jams. It felt like staying with family. We were a close walk to the black sand beach, lava show and different restaurants. The view of the snow covered mountains made a great backdrop for morning coffee.

Clean motel in beautiful area. Unfortunately the only place you can take advantage of the view is the picnic table in the parking lot. Small window in room with no view of much and the room with all the windows and seating that is advertised is only open for breakfast. We found this place to be quite good other than the high cost. There was free parking, a good room with spotless shared bath, and the kitchen and rest of the place were all very clean. Some minor noise at night, but nothing to keep us up. We booked late so we got walloped on price, but so it goes.

We loved our stay at vik hi hostel ! Even though we never saw anyone at the reception it was not a problem at all and the self check in was really convenient for us. The cabins are very nice. A downside, I see is the check-in process. You have to call a phone number and they'll tell you the cabin number and the entry password. Aside from that, the place is actually great!

This was a good place for us to crash for a night - however it was quite busy trying to use the kitchen, even later at night. So you have to be up for sharing. Otherwise no issues. The bathrooms were quite wet because so many folks were showering and using them but they were nice overall and we never had to wait long to use them.

Had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable. Many flies in the shared kitchen.
