Guesthouse Galleri Vík in Vik

Surprisingly large sized apartments for you and the family! They were clean, quite large, have a nice dining area and kitchen attached as well. The host left us some homemade jam and waffle batter to use which was a nice surprise! It's located nicely near the wool company, soup kitchen and local bar that also has good food. Cannot recommend this place enough!

This is an absolute jewel! The hosts are friendly and welcome you into their home, which happens to be your apartment. The kitchen is very well stocked (including homemade jams, etc.) and they will provide almost anything you ask. The location is excellent and within walking distance from many of the main attractions and restaurants. We wished we could stay longer.

I’m a year late in writing this review but I was remembering with my wife and had to write it. Gudrun and Emil are the most amazing hosts we have ever encountered. We got caught in a snow storm and they took us in on Christmas Eve (the main evening in Iceland). They treated us to Christmas dinner, all of the Icelandic treats, and included us in their traditions. They didn’t need to but they took us in during the storm. Amazing people.

The apartment is incredible too. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need and the separation of the house gives plenty of privacy. We will be back to visit them and enjoy this beautiful accommodation and location again

The host, Gudrun, provides waffle mix for the morning along with homemade butter and jams. It felt like staying with family. We were a close walk to the black sand beach, lava show and different restaurants. The view of the snow covered mountains made a great backdrop for morning coffee.

Friendly host who made us pancake mix and home made jelly and spread. The room has a living room attached which has a full kitchen. We went to the nearby super market and cooked ourselves a nice meal.

Overall, I would stay here again. The rooms and shared kitchen were all very clean. There are plenty of things in the kitchen you can use to prepare your own food, as well as make breakfast. The hosts were also incredibly kind and accomodating, even helping with my strange request to help fix my broken watch.
Given that Vik is a tiny place, anywhere you would need to get is pretty much within walking distance (grocery stores, restaurants, etc.).
The only thing I would put here as a percaution is that the shared bathroom can be problematic if another party is using it. That being said, it was consistently cleaned, and the other guests staying along with us were courteous when it came to sharing it.

Lovely owner. The house is beautiful, well looked after. Very cosy bedroom. You can cook in the kitchen. The owner makes waffle mix and homemade jams for the guests to enjoy. The only thing was a faulty plug in our bedroom, which was pretty unsafe so we just didn't use it. Would still go back there. Ideal location to go explore the Katla glacier.

We were here for the second time. That should already say enough about this guesthouse, but I would like to go into more detail.
It is one of the best guesthouses I have ever been to. The bedroom is big and there is a big, very nicely decorated living room. The kitchen has all you need (dishes, a fridge, spices, cream cheese, tea, sugar, etc). There is also fresh dough, so you can make delicious waffles in the morning, as well as cookies and home made jams. The bathroom is equipped with different products for everyone to use. Everything is very clean!

The owners are lovely! They help whereever they can and gave us great tips for activities near Vik. All in all, they made us feel like visiting friends rather than just checking in to a regular guesthouse. We will certainly come back the next time we are in Iceland! :)
