Spacious and clean rooms with comfortable beds and multiple power outlets, including USB ports. Breakfast is consistently praised for quality and variety, including fresh fruit and vegan options. Friendly and helpful staff noted in multiple reviews, enhancing the guest experience. Great views of the ocean and coastline from front-facing rooms and the dining hall. Facilities include a well-equipped fitness centre and a nearby golf course within 3 km. The hotel frequently hosts large tour and school groups, causing noise disturbances at night and early morning. Older parts of the hotel have less modern facilities and some bathrooms lack ventilation fans. Check-in service can be slow and sometimes lacks clear information about hotel facilities. Breakfast seating is limited for independent guests due to reserved tables for tour groups. Some guests find the hotel basic and overpriced compared to other Icelandic accommodations.

This hotel is a fine stop for a one-night stop for travel across the south coast. Because it is a larger hotel, indeed there are tour buses overnighting here, but that didn’t cause any discomfort for us. The room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice to have breakfast included, which you don’t always find in Iceland. The view from the front-facing rooms is beautiful.

I came with school. The staff are super friendly and I would definitely come here again. It was a super awesome stay. In a super awesome location with super awesome people. I love the vibe of this place. Its very unique.

Lots of power outlets for your devices, including a couple USB. Spacious room and bathroom. Note: we stayed in the newly-built building - older rooms could be different.

Breakfast and dinner buffet, decent. If you have a walking issue, try to get a room close to the dining hall. There are elevators, but it still took us about 7 minutes walk over to dinner. Fortunately you can do that completely through inside corridors, if it's cold or wet outside.

The shower is a step less walk-in. One person can shower while the other uses the toilet, if you don't mind clear glass. No vent fan in bathroom.

The hotel itself is similar to a Days Inn in America. For the most part it's very basic with few amenities.
The beds were very comfortable and the mattresses did look new.
Dinner was good with several side options and the salmon was amazing.
Breakfast had some great tasting fresh fruit.
The big positive about this location is it's a perfect stop over on the way from glacier lagoon back to the west coast.
Definitely a 1 night stay only.
Can't comment on the viewability for the Northern lights as we were there during a Blizzard. However, if that's your goal request an even numbered room facing the parking lot. The back side is too close to the mountain to see the sky and there's 2 brightly lit buildings above the back side causing too much light pollution.

We ended up staying here for 2 nights after the Hotel Burfell had some type of undisclosed problem and moved our reservation to here. It really does feel like a nursing home, but it's fine. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast was great with plenty of options. They even have a very nice gym which is a super rare in Iceland hotels. The spot is beautiful and you could probably easily see the nothern lights if it's clear.

So why the lower rating? It's completely loaded with tour and school groups. The second night, our room was right in the middle of wild teenagers, running through the halls, knocking on our door and crashing around. They did quiet down by 2300 for quiet hours, but were up crashing around at 0600 again. Then a large tour bus pulled up just before midnight, with it's engine running, headlights shinning in the room, and people talking loudly.

For that reason alone I wouldn't recommend staying here. There was 2 different school groups staying here in 2 days.

The services are good, but facilities are old. Good location to have a view.

This hotel is in a good location just off the highway but way overpriced for what you get compared to even other icelandic hotels of which i stayed in 5 others. The breakfast was a hot mess in terms of seating as there are a lot of tour buses and they reserve 90% of the tables for them. You are left with 5 or 6 tables with people just standing there waiting for you to leave. Overall for south Iceland, choose this hotel only if you have exhausted 1st and 2nd options.

Hotel near the vik black sand beach, and puff view point(20mins drive), thumbs up for breakfast. The best one we had eaten during iceland trip.
