Residenza Amblingh in Vasto

I enjoyed my stay and the Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are well appointed and the staff professional. It is in a good location. One thing to be aware of is that you cannot get to the lobby by car or transport. If you have luggage and mobility issues it is very challenging to navigate. It is not clear in the literature. They would benefit by having a hand rail to assist with states going into it as stairs are uneven and not well lit. If staff is available they can help if not busy. That is challenging in that they are only staffed from 8-10 and 4-8. Suggest using GPS to find it. Note many stairs if you go the wrong way with luggage. Luckily we had a driver who took our luggage there while we had lunch and returned with keys. Entrance by code as it was in a time not staffed. Departure we were assisted by Francesco on staff. Excellent. Breakfast is from 8-10 in a lovely roof hop area. Stairs do have hand rails. Well worth the effort but could be enhanced by making the outside easier to navigate.

Loved this elegant residenza. Staff was A+. Breakfast and rooftop dining area was beautiful. There is also a common reading area adjacent that was welcoming. We had the deluxe rooms with a view. The beds were comfy. Room was lovely as was the view. It was quiet. It had everything you need for a short stay including complimentary umbrella which we needed! Definitely recommend. We walked past the entrance to the B&B but it was us not them. It’s easy to find and parking was 3 min away on the street. Vasto is worth the visit. As is this B&B. Top!

The apartment Il Golfo was small but comfortable. The hosts & staff were accommodating and cheerful. The view from the window was beautiful as was the views from the breakfast terrace. The breakfast was in the main traditional Italian with fresh juice & coffee. Toast, fresh Ham, cheese & spreads were available as was cereal. The shower was a large walk in shower with good water pressure. Air conditioning was good for those hot days.

Cosy and elegant accomodation with a high touch of class and yet a homely feel. Beautiful view of the coast and sea from the attic, where breakfast was served. Perfect location in Vasto.

This is a very difficult place to find, there are no signs indicating the right little alley in the maze of the old city. Fortunately, a neighbour showed me into the area.

There is no parking, I parked in a municipal parking garage about a half mile away.

The location is really quite lovely, the sea walk (Via Amblingh) is beautiful, a very nice place the walk.


The room was uncomfortable, a small loft room with bathroom and awkward sitting area on the 'first floor' and the bedroom up a narrow steep stairs. I guess it uses a small space efficiently, but I found it uncomfortable.

Breakfast was amazing, so many different items, especially so many different sweets, cakes, cookies, jams etc. Quite an abundance of desserts, but not many choices that were not sweet and rich.

I'm glad I saw this section of Vasto, but I doubt I'd choose this hotel again because it is not convenient and hard to find

The good: The location is fantastic, with one of the best views in the old town. Our room faced the ocean and it was a pleasure to look out the window. There is also a gorgeous palazzo right by the building. Scenery really was unbeatable, both from the room and from the terrace. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great, with perfect water pressure. The room was spacious enough. The staff was friendly, the decor was in great taste and the breakfast was really good (we could have used some bacon and more variety of eggs instead of just boiled, though).

The bad: Our room was “Il golfo” (all the rooms are named) and even though it was a really nice room with a fabulous view, it was unfortunately right under the terrace where everyone has breakfast, so we woke up every day to the very present sound of chairs being dragged upstairs, so we couldn’t sleep in properly. This was especially bad in the first two days, when there was family with kids staying (the kids were very noisy with the chairs), more bearable after they left. The host also said he would provide us with a sun umbrella for us to take to the beach, but that never showed up, unfortunately they forgot… Host was friendly enough , but really not as helpful and communicative as we would have liked. Also the wash basin position in the bedroom made little sense, to brush your teeth or shave you had to approach it from the side and look at the mirror from the side.

Tips: The place is about a 5-10 minute walk from the parking spot they recommend, and if you follow their video you will get there fairly easily, but forget about using google maps, total fail at finding the place through there.

Also there is a much cheaper and closer parking spot on the southern part of the old town, near the garden, but you'll only find parking there before 6pm - worth checking out after you arrive and are settled, though - it's a much simpler walk to the B&B and it's only 5 euros a day - the parking lot is a bit of a rip off if you're staying for several days.

Everything was perfect!

Just a wonderful stay in Vasto. Unbelievable room and view of Adriatic. We had difficulty finding the paid parking garage (20 Euros/day), correct exit from it, and landmarks provided by hotel in the reservation. Called the staff and were met outside garage and walked to hotel. Well worth the small consternation. Room beautiful. Great location. Great staff. Highly highly recommended.
