We stayed for 1 week in summer 23 hiring a car from Brindisi airport. We arrived and were greeted by a friendly member of staff who gave us some local information and places to visit. We were shown to our room which was on the first floor overlooking the piazza and restaurants, we had a nice balcony with table and chairs out front. The room was a nice size with a shower room, however it was limited with no kettle, tea, coffee options (I'd seen some rooms had kettles?) The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels every couple of days. Twice we ran out of toilet paper as this was not restocked or a spare left - rather frustrating.
The breakfast is limited and for a week's stay - very tedious. There is a table of yoghurt, rolls, cereal and fruit. This is the same everyday, you can then have a croissant, egg, cheese and ham. Again, same everyday - it serves a purpose but not very exciting.
We ate in the hotels restaurant one evening, the food was nice and we received a discount for being guests. We'd read reviews about the owner being on hand and we knew immediately who he was, he had a sense about him that was quite arrogant, a couple of guests had some issues with their meals and his reaction is not what you would expect as paying customers. I wouldn't go back, there are plenty of other restaurants in felline and also nearby racale which we preferred.
Felline is a lovely town and a nice spot as a base for travelling around the south, 5 days is probably sufficient and be prepared to do a lot of driving.
Overall we had a lovely holiday but no need to return, the hotel was ok but not luxury and has some improvements to make.

Definitely not worth the price for this.

The rooms are normal, deluxe, whatever, no way to check what they give you. Also no other availability to see other rooms. Our room for example had an open toilet separated by a wall in the same room as our bed. Also our initial booking said our room will have an extra sofa bed, it had no such thing. I asked at the reception, inconclusive answers and avoidance.

The town is very chill at day but at night the restaurants and the piazzettas are full of people, very noisy.

Large and well-kept rooms in a charming village like Felline. Excellent location to reach the beaches or other cities, away from the chaos.
Hearty and assorted breakfast, excellent welcome from all the staff.
We will certainly do a great advertisement to our friends, hoping to be back soon too.
Thank you all
Ah and their restaurant where we stopped on the last evening is also good.

We booked the hotel for our honeymoon. The hotel has many rooms spreaded all over the little, romantic town of Felline - a very beautiful Italian village, which sleeps during the day and becomes a wild romantic, very lively place, with light bulbs all over the place, full of different restaurants with sometimes the most fantastic food during the night.

The first room offered was small, plain and had nothing to do with the beautiful pictures of the homepage. We asked and the staff was super friendly and offered us two more rooms for viewing so we made a choice and had a fine, quite room at the edge of the village center. Luckily, as we are light sleeper and most rooms of the hotel are located in this liveliness.

We had our first night dinner at the hotel restaurant as we read all the raving critics about the food. It turned out ok but nothing to get too excited about (recommendation: just hop around and try them all - there are fantastic places there with mind-blowing food!).

People working there are very friendly, try to do their best and help out whenever possible - in a way, it seems like an Italian cliché: not all of them speak English, everything is a bit chaotic but with a lot of charm so that we did not mind at all.

We met another couple who goes there on a regular basis. They informed us that you can get a voucher to go to the beach for free. They had been doing it like this every time they are there. The next day, we went to the reception and checked with theml. We got the voucher and a set of towels and went to the beach. 3 times in total.

On my birthday, the last night in Felline, we were going to settle the invoice. They charged us 75 EUR for the voucher (the actual price for the beach). My husband speaks little English so I went inside to settle this. I was confused: why did we have to pay? It was a voucher. There must be a misunderstanding. The lady at the reception was friendly but did not move her position. We had to pay 75 EUR. She said, that we got informed about the price that we had to pay this. I told her the story of the other couple, the recommendation, that no one told us about prices to pay the full price (apart from that - what's the point of a voucher if you have to pay the same price anyway). She said she had to check with the owner. I mean these kind of things happen all the time in all kind of hotels. We would have expected a 4 star hotel to drop this matter or the minimum to find a compromise. But what happened next is beyond words:

The owner arrived. His face was bright red, he was so angry without even talking to us before. Without warning he started screaming loudly at us that we have to pay this bill, no discussion, that we are guest in his house (!) and then I raised my voice and reminded him that we are paying customer. He switched into Italian (I speak Spanish so I understand roughly what he said) - shouting at us that was going to throw us out of the hotel (!) and that we have to pay our bills in Germany as well when we order things (!). My husband got so upset and before the whole situation escalated I paid the bill.

As a traveller, I have encountered all kind of things during my journeys. But this encounter with this very unpleasant, highly unprofessional choleric is certainly one of the worst in my traveller life. And it is not about the 75 EUR, it is about how we are treated and talked to. This is unacceptable.

I am looking forward to the reply of the owner who is certainly not saving with his "this lady" and "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (see the other 1 Star review) :-)))))))

At the end of July we had the most incredible 10 day stay at Di Lorenzi Albergo Diffuso. The suite was excellent, spacious and comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our whole stay - the owner, reception staff, breakfast and evening waiters - always gave us a big hello and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Felline is a stunning little town that comes alive at night when the restaurants open. We feel so lucky to have discovered it - a properly traditional Italian experience, and the perfect base from which to discover the Salento peninsula in Puglia. After days out exploring we were excited to get back to Felline to our comfortable room with great air con before deciding which of the numerous local restaurants to choose to eat at that evening (all just a matter of metres from our front door). Di Lorenzi is a place we will recommend to friends and family. Thanks for a brilliant holiday!
