Venere in Rimini

We stayed two nights during the August bank holiday. Unfortunately, as soon as we arrived after checking in, we immediately noticed how poorly cleaned the room was. We decided to report the situation to reception, but without embarrassing the staff, we waited until after dinner so we could speak to them without guests overhearing. The night watchman was mortified and promptly reported the unsanitary situation, especially with the shower tray, forcing us to buy a pair of slippers to use it given its filthy condition. The following day, the receptionist didn't have the same courtesy as the previous employee; in fact, he seemed almost annoyed by our report. The night before, we'd been told that it wasn't the first time and that usually when the owner made her rounds after cleaning, it never happened. It was likely someone else (or this same guy, we thought) had checked that day. After inspecting the room and having it cleaned, they apologized. They agreed that it had been cleaned before our arrival, but that the cleaning staff clearly hadn't put in the necessary effort. The breakfast was good, very varied, and plentiful, with a wide selection of desserts. The price was a bit high, but that's understandable in high season. I'd give this hotel a second chance, but definitely not in August, and not if the receptionist remains the same as this year. He was polite until he felt he was being singled out, and working for the public sector also means accepting constructive criticism, especially when done separately and not in front of other guests. He probably saw two young men and thought he was acting a bit cocky; he should learn not to judge appearances. The breakfast room also has a small, very nice outdoor area. Overall, not a top-notch vacation; we expected at least a discount for the inconvenience, but speaking with other guests at nearby hotels, we were quite lucky, because it could have been worse. The location is excellent, and unlike other reviews, the owner was friendly and kind, which is why she deserves an extra star. Give the night watchman a raise; he deserves praise for his kindness.

Ho soggiornato una notte in questo hotel, posizione ottima, camera molto pulita, complimenti alla colazione super fornita, soprattutto lo staff molto accogliente e gentilissimo, ottimo il parcheggio in struttura. Soggiorno perfetto!!!

Food average at best. The rooms were clean and the prices were ok for the area.
