Rome Vatican Inn

BAD! The service is terrible (there is no reception or even entrance hall). It's a corridor with dilapidated rooms. I asked for compensation for inconvenience, no response and NO INVOICE ISSUED in advance payment!!! No air conditioning, broken shutters and view of an internal courtyard with the smell of pigeon excrement and noise from air conditioning machines 24 hours a day! Room 101 at risk of infection!

We had paid money for 3 nights and booked to stay in a nice place! At the last morning they warned us with a message that they had had some problems and showed us another address to show up at, at which point with our luggage and everything we took another taxi to reach the new destination, which according to them should have been equivalent But it was not so !!! They told us that if we didn't like it we could cancel the reservation and they would give us our money back, but at the last minute they pulled a dirty trick on us since the places we had seen were already all sold out! so in order not to take yet another taxi and end up trying to book what was now available on Booking at the last minute (I specify all mediocre places) it ended as a result of things that at the same price gave us the best room we could find they had “(again according to them) “and in any case it was not up to par nor comparable to what I had paid! Discounts or money back for the inconvenience don't even talk about it! The bedroom window didn't close properly at night, a little light came in and drafts also came in so much so that we got fever and sore throat. In addition to the economic damage, there is also an insult!!!

Many negative points: We arrived in the evening around 8 p.m. to a closed door, we rang several times without any answer, we called without answer, we ended up being able to enter the hall thanks to a resident and finally a gentleman came arrived after 30 minutes and assigned us our room (in a building other than the address, about 500 m away). Very poorly soundproofed room, you hear the noise from the street day and night. Breakfast is almost non-existent, 1 croissant per person. And finally the best for last no hot water the last 2 days :( Only positive point: The location near the Vatican.

We cancelled our stay before the 'free cancellation' period and they still charged us. Upon contacting them, they informed us we would be reimbursed 'as soon as possible'. 2 months later and no reimbursement.

We stayed in the Vatican Inn for 5 days. We had nice rooms with a good level of soundproofing. It is in an excellent location for exploring the Vatican City, St.Peters Basilica etc etc. The rooms were ok, we had various interactions with Pamela & Dalia in reception…. They were both very friendly and most helpful. They are a true credit to the management. However……… I had a running with a woman cleaning my room….. She was beyond RUDE and made me cry!!! I was SO offended I had to call *********** to report her behaviour. If you are sensitive I would recommend that you DO NOT stay here.
